Table for 2 for Dinner
As we approached the restaurant, I pulled into the attached parking lot. It’s not particularly large, but we were able to find a spot without any trouble. There’s also street parking nearby, along with a few other lots scattered around downtown Decatur. This was my wife’s first time visiting since the restaurant rebranded to Benchwarmers. We walked in without a reservation and were greeted right away. The host asked if we’d like drink and beer menus — of course, we said yes. We were quickly led inside and asked if we preferred a booth or a table. We chose a booth and were seated immediately. While we looked over the menu, we decided to try a couple of beer tasters. Our server, Kim, came by promptly. Wifey tried the Tucker Red Clay Lager, while I went with the Wild Heaven Sunburst IPA. I liked mine enough to order a full pint. Wifey wasn’t a fan of hers, so she played it safe and ordered a Heineken in the bottle. For food, I went with the chicken quesadilla. Kim gave me the choice between regular chopped chicken or shredded chicken seasoned with Mexican spices — I opted for the shredded. Wifey ordered the fish and chips. The vibe here is exactly what you’d expect from a classic sports bar: TVs everywhere, rock music in the background, and even a private room available for events. The food arrived fairly quickly. First bite of the quesadilla, and it was clear the balance was off — way more cheese than chicken, and not much of those Mexican spices came through either. Overall, the quesadilla was pretty average. Next time, I might try it with the chopped chicken — maybe the texture will be a little more balanced, since the shredded chicken and cheese sort of blended together too much. Wifey commented the fish had a nice, crispy batter, but she felt the fries could have been a lot crispier. Even though my wife mentioned that the energy in the room felt a bit low to her, this place definitely nails the sports bar atmosphere. No question about that. The food, however, left something to be desired. We’ll likely return because the location is so convenient, and next time we’ll try a few...
Read moreI am writing to formally address the situation involving Your Manager (name unknown) and Jack(bartender) and an incident that led to a police call and a subsequent trespassing order against me. It has come to my attention that the employee responsible for this misconduct has been terminated, yet the trespassing order and accusations against me persist despite a clear lack of evidence that I was antagonizing anyone. Additionally, I believe the actions taken by the management, including how the situation was handled, were improper and have led to negative consequences for me, both personally and professionally.
The fact that I am still being blamed and that the trespassing order remains is concerning, as it points to a lack of due diligence on the part of the management. If these issues are not properly addressed, it will reflect negligence on the part of your establishment. I have reason to believe that the incident at Bench Warmers is directly impacting my current employment situation, leading to false accusations being made against me.
Please be advised that if this matter is not fully investigated and the unjust trespassing order is not lifted, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action for defamation, harassment, and any further damages that arise. This is your opportunity to rectify the situation before it escalates into a lawsuit, which I am prepared to file if necessary.
I expect a formal response and resolution within 7 days. Failure to address this may result in immediate legal steps to protect my rights...
Read moreUpdate 2/19/25 restaurant never reached out. Never credited money back. Disputed with Amex, got money returned. Uber eats is charging me though. This restaurant sent raw red meat to my house. I’m liver transplant patient. They have done nothing to rectify the situation. Read their reviews and un professional responses. Bad business and horrible customer service. Update: 1/1/25 Still no response from this business. Their customer service and follow-through are clearly poor. Read their response to my review—it was just for appearances. They haven’t taken any real action. Look at how they handle other reviews as well. Mistakes happen, but it’s about how a business fixes them, and this one hasn’t.
Update: Still no contact from the restaurant—not even a phone call.
Update: They responded to the review publicly but haven’t reached out to me or Uber, nor issued a refund. Their response was just for show. I can’t recommend ordering from here. Not only was the food unappetizing, but it was also dangerous because it wasn’t cooked properly.
Original Review: Service and atmosphere aren’t relevant because I had my food delivered. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat any of it. I ordered: • Hamburger steak (medium well) – It was completely raw. I have to order my meat cooked medium well due to a medical condition. • Coleslaw – Overloaded with mayo. • Mashed potatoes – Bland and unappetizing. • Philly cheesesteak – It had cheddar cheese on it, which was untraditional and tasted awful.
A complete waste of $45.00. I won’t be ordering...
