I simply love when I find a quaint eatery with a cozy vibe in the heart of Downtown USA. Picture this, early Saturday morning on my way to work and I begin walking in search of something, heck anything to eat. I remember there’s a chain restaurant on my route so I head that way, only to look to my left and see PASTRIES TO GO. I’m not really in the mood for pastries so early, but the lady talking to her mum said it was a nice place to eat, so I figured why not. She seems like a local.
Immediately I’m greeted my a perky voice at the front counter asking me if it’s FOR HERE or TO GO. I decided to sit in because I’m super early and I need to get my mind right. I’m then seated by an bubbly bopping teen who seats me and gets me cooler black with honey on the side. Then a lady who seems to know everything about Pastries To Go helps me with my order. I settled on A half order FRench toast, Turkey sausage and real sliced fruit. She assured me the turkey is made in house.
All I I can say is I wanted to fight whomever cooked that turkey sausage. It was sinfully delicious and hearty. Not the typical turkey mush sausage. The French made me feel like I was in Paris, hey a girl can wish.
I’m feeling super guilty and must come back with my family.
You gotta try this place for yourself.

Read moreI have been going here since @ 2003. New ownership. First thing I noticed was that the lunch special soup is half the size or less. Despite the reply below, I know the size of the lunch special (1/2 sandwich and soup or salad and soup )containers of soup are much smaller. I decided to go back one more time. This time the chicken lemon soup, which my coworkers could not believe, filled less than a half of a bowl I use and had no chicken in it. The salad seemed smaller this time too. There was no napkin in the bag. They raised the price a dollar yet have a tip jar on the counter for takeout. What a disappointment after all these years. One change for the better is that they answer the phone unlike the other cashier under the previous owner. Others in my office building told me their experiences are similar to mine, ie smaller portions, price increases and lower quality food. I won't go back yet...
Read moreAbsolutely an amazing breakfast! Everything made on site from scratch, including the sausage. (Unfortunately the climate and space restrictions prevent them from growing their own oranges from which to squeeze the oj.) But when the food runs out, it is gone! So Arrive Early. I ordered the Traditional Southern breakfast with an extra Sausage Gravy cup. I was surprised how quickly my food arrived. I was in Breakfast Heaven pouring the gravy on top and enjoying the taste of every forkful as I slide different things together enjoying how they compliment each other. The texture of that big Southern bisquit was perfect! The eggs were cooked exactly as requested. The sausages were not spicy, perfect for breakfast. The potatoes and onions were flavorful and provided that extra punch I needed before taking on my Saturday writing assignments. I will return after this memorable...
