I was craving Chicharrón ( fried pork belly) coming home from work. I googled places near me, and the time the establishment was closing for the night. I arrived at 7:20 PM. The first thing out of this lady mouth behind the counter as I approached was ( “we’re closing soon.” I thought that was very rude to say considering they were closing at 8 PM. I had plenty of time to order take out. I also felt the vibe that they were prejudice against Americans. Weird eyes at me. But I still decided to order Because I read good reviews before I got there . I’m sorry to say the food was not good. Fried pork I ordered was so dry and salty and so difficult to bite into. I’m sorry that I ordered two of them. I still have leftover in my fridge and I cannot get myself to eat it. I guess it will be thrown out. What a waste of money. It’s that bad. Everything else was mediocre. Just a weird experience. I thought the lady behind the counter that helped me I did not connect with. Maybe she just doesn’t like Americans . Not sure. I had to ask for side sauces. She never offered them. She seemed so annoyed with me. I know I can be direct. I own that. But I felt no welcoming the minute I walked into this establishment . The customer helping us to communicate was a lot nicer than her. I still gave her a tip. It’s who I am. I’ll...
Read moreSign out front said "salads, sandwiches, hamburgers", but when my mom asked for a chicken sandwich the server told us they don't have sandwiches. We all ordered lunch, my dad's empanadas showed up and her didn't want to eat until everyone else's good arrived. Server told us "ten minutes" before the rest was ready. They brought my fish (pictured) and mom's grilled chicken. Next we waited for George's food. We had asked about their "soup of the day" and told they don't have it, but server pointed to several other items that were soup. A platter finally showed up which was definitely not soup. Back-waiter struggled to comprehend why we didn't want that plate. Eventually it was taken to another table and a bowl of soup showed up. Dad ate one empanada and decided he didn't like them so he didn't eat the second. The rest of the food was ok. When server came back to ask how we liked the food, our effort to explain that we weren't happy with some of it wasn't part of the expected script. Eventually, an answer of "it's ok" got them to stop asking. Highlight, the sauce they brought for the empanadas was really delicious...
Read moreThis Colombian restaurant is an absolute treasure. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed with warm hospitality and the vibrant, colorful atmosphere that instantly transports you straight to Colombia. The food? Incredible. Every dish is packed with bold, authentic flavors that showcase the richness of Colombian cuisine.
The arepas were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, the bandeja paisa was hearty and satisfying, and the ajiaco soup was comfort in a bowl. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. Even the drinks—from fresh fruit juices to Colombian coffee—were top-notch.
The service was just as outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and happy to share recommendations or explain dishes for those less familiar with the cuisine.
