The food is great, or at least it should be from my experience. The problem with Piada (at least this location) is that they have contracted with DoorDash for delivery. On two separate occasions my food was ready and the driver there, but doordash is doing everything they can to turn a profit, so they have the driver wait there to pick up multiple orders. This time, the driver did not leave until 35 minutes after the online ordering said my food was ready.
When I called the driver, he indicated that he had to wait on the other order and then that order was scheduled to be delivered first. Meaning my food shows up cold and stale.
Of course, doordash takes no responsibility for this, but neither has Piada as I’ve tried to call, and unless my call option selected is to place an order, I eventually am told that nobody is available and to just call back.
While Piada would probably point to doordash being the responsible party, ultimately, Piada needs to be held accountable for selecting a really bad business partner and not owning the mistake.
I honestly love the food at Piada but I cannot recommend them or their service until they get an in-house delivery driver instead of outsourcing to big tech and their poor customer service.
**I want to follow up on my initial review. We tried them again and the exact same issue. Piada takes no responsibility and Door Dash just doesn’t respond. Short version is that no food shows up and they both abdicate responsibility. I will say that I love their food, but Piada has chosen a trash service (door dash) to carry out their deliveries, and must be held...
Read moreTried this restaurant to use a BOGO coupon received in mail. Easy to locate in strip mall. Ample parking available. Greeted at counter by 1st associate. Similar to a Chipotle. Serving counter total mess, with food droppings scattered all over. Very unappetizing! No other associates interacted with us till we were at pay register. Customer in front of us waiting for a meatball to complete his order. It was finally brought to the register in a container. Instead of putting container on customer's tray, register associate actually reached into container with his fingers, picked up meatball & plopped it on top of customer's order. This associate was wearing a glove, but just thought it strange that an associate working at a register with money, etc. would also be actually handling uncovered exposed food products too. Ordered porchetta sandwich, came on a soft roll with wonderful basil aioli & crunchy pickled veg. Meat very fatty, thick sliced, a few mouthfuls could not be eaten because of the fat content. Sandwich served with rosemary chips (potato chips coated with rosemary flavor). Sandwich was tasty, but heartburn followed later. Best thing was the basil aioli. Casual atmosphere. The BOGO coupon got us in there, but nothing on menu would prompt us to return. Price was $9.99 for one...
Read moreIt was a little intimidating and the initial server was not too patient and it looked like she'd been having a bad day. I didn't it personal, but the chef wound up taking over and was a bit more helpful in constructing my dinner. After you pay for your food they put everything on a flimsy aluminum tray. It was very difficult trying to get that to my table without dropping everything as I was trying to walk with a cane. The guy at the register just watched and stared at me the whole time & it was awkward. I asked for help a couple times and was ignored. Never got a receipt. The spaghetti was very fresh as was the chicken. The bread stick was soggy and wet, and no I didn't put it in any sauce to get it that way. It took a while to find a lid for my cup. The lids they were giving out at the register didn't have a straw hole. The cup was made of a very flimsy paper so it was hard to hold it without spilling drink at the top because the lid would have made it more structurally sound. The paper bags to take your stuff out are nice but if you are disabled it's a little hard to carry that, your drink, and cane out to your vehicle. I hope this information will make this restaurant take notice of some of the little things. I think they have a...
