We went here for the first time at 8:30 on Labor Day morning to dine in. It was not crowded.
I suggest you either know what you want before you get there or grab a menu before getting in line, since they have video menu screens, but they change to different screens as you’re standing there. If you dine in they give you a number to put on your table and they bring your food, utensils, and napkins to you.
It looks like they have four different coffees to choose from and two or three teas plus they have a fountain soda machine with Coke products - all self-serve.
My wife ordered The Sticky Maple ($9.95), which was a “sort of sandwich” (as in too tall to eat as a sandwich) consisting of a huge biscuit split in half, a boneless fried chicken breast, a large piece of bacon, and maple syrup. The biscuit was very good, the chicken was juicy and tender, but she did not prefer the bacon because she said it was too smokey.
I had a Steak Taco ($6.00), which was a soft flour tortilla with a fluffy egg, shredded cheddar, flavorful-but-very chewy pieces of steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and an awesome creamy jalapeño sauce. (I wonder if I can get this same taco but with chicken instead of steak.)
My wife also had a fountain drink ($3.25) and I had fountain water (n/c).
Our total dine-in bill was $20.50 with tax, which was reasonable considering the overall quality of the food and portion size - and given food prices in general. I found it interesting that there was no prompt on the credit card terminal to add a tip and I also did not see a tip jar.
As for the dining area, the tables along the wall are half booth and half uncomfortable chair and spaced very close together. Had the place been busy, it would not have been possible to squeeze between the tables to get to the booth seating along the wall. Also, as is typical in most casual restaurants today, it was a bit loud and would have been way too loud for a conversation had they been very busy.
We’ll definitely be back to try...
Read moreI wanted a waffle today and happened to come find this place having a soft opening today. Got the chix & waffles as I never can pass that option up (unless there's a good Belgian waffle). Wasn't too crowded as I came in near the end of their open hours but a server was there ready with a menu and explained the options and his recommendations. They give you a nunber and ask you to go ahead and take a seat, and a server will deliver your food to yiu. Mine came out nice and hot, with not too long of a wait. The waffles were nice, crispy with a small amount of heat added with the tenders. The only issue I discovered was that a tender was just slightly undercooked; it looked cooked but the texture was just too hard that hinted it was just a lil ubdercooked. A manager saw me inspecting the tenders, and apologized for the food issue. He took the plate away and in a short moment, had a fresh platter in front of me! (Which was great as I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo before I dug in).
Service 5/5 Managers went above and beyond for me with correcting ny meal. Food 4.5/5 (small deduction for the tender, but it would have been a 5 if not for that, and its a soft opening so mistakes are bound to happen) Atmosphere: 5/5 Its akin to a Panera, or Bibibop. Average volume, music playing, but nothing too loud or annoying. Price: Good. It's not cheap, but it's not super expensive. For the quality and qauntity I received, pricing was just right, between $10-$20 for the chix and waffles with a fountain drink.
Definitely will be back to try the biscuits and gravy next! Le Peep may have some brunch competition again in the...
Read moreI've been to this Maple Street Biscuit company location four separate times, one of them to sit down and dine, two of them grabbing to go orders for lunch and one time simply to retrieve drinks. I would like to start by saying that they do things slightly different, and if someone is not prepared for their traditional dish to be tinkered with, then this may not be the place for them. Moving forward, their food in my opinion is phenomenally delicious. To me, it seems that most food places season for the masses, where it is slightly less seasoning then SOME may prefer so everyone is essentially punished and you have to season the food as necessary. Maple Street Biscuit Company managed to somehow be quite aware of the flavor profile that I love and they cater it exactly to my liking. I can't find all the perfect adjectives to tell you why and how I love their food so much. But it's not just the flavor profile, but even the textures of the food take me to a happy place. I originally went there for a chai latte because they do not use the syrup that some of the chain restaurants use and I have been pleased that I did ever since. The staff, small but extremely kind, patient and helpful give me grade A service EVERY time I go. The presentation of the food is always good, neat and packaged well and the facility is always clean...
