Molly's Eatery & Drinkery — Restaurant in DeKalb Township

Hopefully the owner or manager will see this and there will be some sort of Improvement in the next 6 months . my husband and I visit this location about 3 or 4 times a year because we fly in to visit my in laws (which my husband reviewed the location in July which I didn't even know about until I started reading the reviews while trying to post mine 6 months later.. wow!) Every time we have been here its been poor service from the bouncer who check IDs to the bar tenders) like tonight (01/13/19, bar renten not knowing proper pour count on a basic shot or how to make mixed shots and legit attitude from the minute you walk in or when I address the shot being wrong giving me attitude.. and not knowing what kind of beers you have in stock and also allowing regulars to stay passed the time they would allow non local guest to stay. Which can be understood ,but they lost my business at not knowing how to pour a mixed shot or a shot in general and then treating me poorly after letting her (the bar tender) know what exactly I wanted (which was a realistic request).. not cool.. rude and unprofessional. . we tried this place again ONLY BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY PLACE OPEN .. next time we will buy our drinks at a liqour store or gas station and go back to our in law's and or go to the hotel. I really hope that some one reads this and takes action.. your bar tender should always know their pour count and proper shots . it sucks that I have to post this online but...

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I’m very disappointed in their staff. I went there with my coworkers. They called last call i guess and I went up to get my coworkers drinks. Apparently it was last call. Which was fine it was 1:50am and we had 10mins to finish them. Just an FYI I had one drink myself and was not intoxicated. Right after I received our drinks they came and took all the drinks out of everyone’s hands that I just bought them and threw them out. At this moment I was upset because I just spent another $50. I spend $200 that night on my coworkers and I had one drink. Me being an NIU alumni I would/will never go back again. I will choose Fattys every time.

I did ask to speak to a manager. They would not talk with me or listen. They wouldn’t give me there name. Then security decided they could just pick me up and walk me out. IM SOOOO UPSET WITH MOLLYS. I am a business owner myself and am very disappointed how they do business.

Also they are not following CDC health code guidelines. Not a single coworker was wearing a mask. Not a single person in the bar wore a mask. Not a single person was six feet. Also they had more people occupied in there then permitted. This is really not safe for the community. I will let the public health department and owner know personally. I took picture and documented this and plan to send them in first...

Terribly overpriced drinks given the area, the music is mixed poorly (Tell your sound guy to cut the highs), and overall a pretty bottom rung experience.

They will not let you back into the bar to wait for their "shuttle service" if you need to look outside to see if the shuttle has even arrived. This lead to a very cold, even freezing, excursion across DeKalb back home. For a bar that seems to promote patron safety through their bus service they severely missed the mark. I will not be visiting again - The drink specials here are the normal prices of drinks at other nearby...
