I'm so happy to see that this Panda Express is finally open, so much closer to home. My girl and I have kept our eyes on this one for a while now, waiting for the opening day. Driving up to the front entrance we see that they offer outdoor seating but...... it's very minimal; I was hoping for more outdoor seating.
As you take a walk into the restaurant, there was a small like but that's all expected when something new opens. The team was working hard to make sure all orders were taken care of and fresh food was presented every 5-10min. If you're new to Panda Express like I was a couple of months ago, while you wait in line they have a monitor that shows you what size of plates they offer, the type of meat you can chose and then the sides. Everything was reasonably priced, and they offer chopsticks!
Onto the food; I had ordered The Plate which comes with two entrees and one side. I asked for Kung Pao Chicken, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken, and my side was half and half (rice and chow mein). I loved how they asked me if I'd like more Teriyaki sauce on my chicken, YES PLEASE! The flavor was there, the Kung Pao Chicken had a nice kick to it, the grilled chicken was perfect and so much taste to it, the fried rice was at a good consistency; not over cooked or under cooked, and for the chow mein..... It was still a little on the dry side, but to me that's almost expected at every Panda Express. If you mix it with the Teriyaki sauce it's great but alone you won't be satisfied.
Overall our experience at Panda Express was great! The service was good, even though the line was a good wait, the food was delicious, the restaurant was...
Read moreI travel down US-13 a lot so I'd been watching the progress on this restaurant's construction. Finally, I saw a sign saying that it was open so I went in to give them a try. Aside from some differences in the dining area furniture, this location is very much like the Bear location. I see some of the more-experienced Panda Express staff from the Bear location are now at this location, helping it get off the ground. For a new restaurant, I think they're doing pretty well. I noticed some minor slip-ups but I am confident they'll get it sorted out soon.
The food is pretty standard for the chain, although for now, this location seems to be giving the brown rice and mixed vegetables the proper amount of cooking time, a deficiency I've noticed at some other Panda Express locations. I find the sweet entree items (e.g. orange chicken, Beijing beef) at this chain to be overly sweet, so I'd recommend the savory items (e.g. mushroom chicken, broccoli beef, kung pao...
Read moreFood is for the most part okay (cheese wontons are absolutely flavorless. Don’t recommend them). Where the two stars comes is for the wait time. Last I checked this was supposed to be a “fast food” place. Yet I have been here twice where I have had to wait at least 30 minutes (that’s not an exaggeration for my food). There’s a long wait in the drive thru and then when you actually go to pay for your food you are told to pull around to the front where you have another long wait. The employees are always very nice but the wait is totally unacceptable. The worse thing is that it’s not even that many people inside. You can get through Chipotle much quicker with 3 times the people waiting in line. I get an hour for lunch and I cannot wait over 30 minutes for food. By the time I get it, I have to practically swallow it so I can get back to work on time. I don’t know if the place is understaffed or what but they really need to...
