A Slice of England in Delray Beach: Alice's Teapot Cafe Having recently returned from the historic cobblestones of Oxford and the bustling charm of London, one might expect to leave the allure of English tea culture behind. Yet, surprisingly, the authentic "flavour of England" we craved wasn't lost across the Atlantic; we discovered it, even better perhaps, right here in Delray Beach at the newly opened Alice's Teapot Cafe. Stepping into Alice's is like walking through a looking glass into a quintessential English tearoom. Gone are the sun-drenched Florida palms, replaced by an inviting ambiance brimming with classic decor and the comforting clink of porcelain. Itâs more than just a place to drink tea; itâs an experience that evokes the very spirit of a proper British afternoon. From the delicate sandwiches and freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam to the exquisite array of loose-leaf teas, every detail is meticulously crafted. The atmosphere, a blend of cozy intimacy and refined elegance, encourages lingering conversations and genuine relaxation. Alice's Teapot Cafe doesn't just replicate an English tearoom; it elevates it. The dedication to quality, the warmth of the service, and the sheer delight in every bite and sip truly make it a standout. For anyone who cherishes the simple, timeless pleasure of a traditional English tea, or for those, like us, who thought they left a piece of their heart in the UK, Alice's Teapot Cafe is a delightful discovery and a testament to how far a well-brewed cup of tea can...
Read moreDown the rabbit hole what an adventurous place this is ! Truly a magical spot for events, small gatherings or just to go out to lunch with a friend, like I did! The place is divided into 2 areas, the main dining room as you enter is wonderfully decorated with a wall to wall fresco of Fall trees in sunset hues and to add perspective lots of tree branches superimposed on the surface. The main table is facing the big window and the two main chairs are white leather with high backs edged in gold paint. A very royal set up with smaller chairs in between. The table settings are vintage cups and saucers all in different floral designs. The rest of the room has a lot of black and white table and wall design! The adjoining room had a hutch full of a collection of teapots and knickknacks! The wall of this room had a fresco of hallucinogenic mushrooms in colorful orange tones and on the other side a picture of playing cards reminiscent of the Queen of Hearts â¤ď¸! By now youâre enjoying the meal of small tea sandwiches with croissants or a salad and if youâre a tea lover like us , you order a Raspberry Rose Petal tea in your own big teapot! What else can I tell you , the staff is young and just like what you expect in Wonderland! Canât wait to return to this beautiful place! I encourage you to do soâ¤ď¸take a friend or bring your kids or commemorate a life event , youâll even love the things I forgot to mention! Donât get lost finding it , itâs right next to a Framing store but for some reason the...
Read moreYour untruthful reply prompted me to add this. We were there when stated. We never cancelled our reservation, which was not under my name so how could you say that it was cancelled since you don't know who I am? We didn't have the high tea as I stated, we ordered from your lunch menu, so that's what I reviewed. We returned the chicken salad because the texture was unpleasant. We had to ask you to take it off the bill. I was very honest with my review and for you to imply that I lied is not good business. Here is the reality. The food was meh and we will not be returning. If you had simply thanked me for the honest review (I mentioned you just bought the restaurant and it should get better) and didn't lie about me not being there, I would have thought...good for them. But I won't lie in the rating to please you. You can do better. Good luck.
Keeping in mind that this is a new owner and probably a new staff, there are a few things they can do better. Itâs a teahouse and we had to ask for a teaspoon to go with our tea. The food was ok. The tea was good. We ordered off of the lunch menu which was overpriced. There was hardly any salad on the plate, although the dressing was good. Maybe the high tea is better. The decor was amazing, but the chairs were really uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will get...
