A happy memory of a random act of kindness on Friday morning: Kylie (10 year old student at AD Henderson, FAU) loves a donut before school and she has her favorite this week of Valentine donuts--the pink sprinkled one. So on Friday we got there in time to then dash over to see the new Brightline trains. A woman wearing an "I'm a teacher" t-shirt is approaching the door and I hold it open for her and say, "I was a teacher." Just ahead of us is a Boca policeman and we're all greeting each other--knowingly. In the midst of us is Kylie. Yep, the atmosphere is pretty thick with the Parkland news and Kylie has and is talking about the added security on FAU's campus. The family behind the counter is busy getting coffee and orders ready when the one who appears to be the 'dad' of the operation sees Kylie and reaches for a bag. I say, "No bag, just the pretty pink donut." He says no, not today, and reaches for Kylie's donuts and two extra. "For you." I realized I had my Palm Beach Central soccer shirt on. Hate to say it I been warned by everyone at my job not to go hear found out the hard way as we work close to this one and all 490 employees say they don't go hear due to how bad it is. I have been 3 times to this DD and every time it was horrible the bagle they never cook it all the way soggy bagle not toasted donuts not fresh they are old every time . I asked for butter they never put it on every time I ordered it it's just plan even when asked did you out it on they lie say yes everytime . The coffee is water down and a ice coffee has no ice in it everytime . Worth the extra drive time to the one on Yamato they are great at that location this one don't go to. As the first time I went the manager was rude yelling at employees and then the customers and even kicked me out for no mask after I already ordered and was just waiting for it . Stop with the paper straws. The glue that holds the straws together is known to be a carcinogen and has cancer causing properties. Dunkin google search is free. Plus it ruins the beverage as it melts away in your drink. If you care so much about the environment, why do you use a plastic cup and lid. When i asked for a plastic straw the lady was rude and said no we don't do that. Once again this is from fake info about straws hurting the environment and animals. The US is one of the cleanest countries never seen a sea turtle with a straw in its nose from Dunkin and I live next to a turtle sanctuary. This is one of the few locations that still use paper straws. Stop please. The ice Coffee was horrible buy the way. Asked for cream and sugar. Who knows what i got.
