ABSOLUTE POOR EXCUSE FOR A RESTAURANT! My wife's birthday was last week. Due to weather we couldn't get out. Last night I asked where she wanted to eat that we couldn't get where we live. She said Lonh John Silvers, so we called before we drove 46 miles and almost an hours drive to make sure they were open in Denton, Tx. They said they would be open to 9-9:30pm which we thought was a weird answer since their posted hours said 10pm, but since the Pandemic is the reason we "call before we drive".
After driving that far, we pulled up to the restaurant. A lady in the restaurant was taping a piece of paper to the door as we got out of the car. She then locked the door as we were walking up to the door and she turned to walk off when I knocked on the door and refused to talk to us. THIS WAS AT 7:50PM! We called them, she answered and I told her we had called and what they said. She refused to even listed or do anything but said" I said we would be open but didn't say out lobby would be" she got very rude like it was a game. I stated that we had just drove almost an hour, she pointed yo the sign she put on the door. I knocked several times and another red headed girl who was sitting in a booth came up and pointed to the sign they taped to the door. This girl had been sitting doing nothing but playing on her phone. We called and knocked on the door but when I told them we were going to call their owner, they said "I don't care, call them!" It was very onvious they could care less. DON'T SPEND A DIME IN THIS PLACE. WE WON'T EVER MAKE A DRIVE LIKE THAT TO A PLACE WHO TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS THIS WAY!!! NO WONDER THEY KEEP GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND AREN'T MANY...
Read moreI had a very bad experience recently on Friday, July 15 between 7:09pm (the time my order was supposed to be ready) and 8:00pm, the estimated time I actually left out with my order. It was horrible. After spending over $50 for a family meal and $10/15 piece shrimp! There were only four people working, the manager, Alexis was rude and disrespectful. They were playing and being extremely passive aggressive. I've been eating at LJS since i was a kid, this made me never want to go back and to tell everyone I know and for them to tell who they know to never ever visit this location. After waiting over 30 mins, I requested a refund, the manager told me she couldn't give me a refund because I paid online. I arrive to pick up my order which was 7:09 and I didn't leave until almost 8:00. She threw my cocktail sauce in the bag as well after they forgot to give it to me! I asked for her name and her general manager's name, she replied his name is Jay, Jeremiah, but she calls him Jay. She was not able to give me a full name or contact information. I recorded my experience to send to the better business bureau (bbb) as well. After this experience, go ahead and close all of them down, definitely get why so many are gone now. This was a hot, ghetto mess with people who obviously barely obtained their high school diplomas. I'm sure I am not the only customer that has had this experience, it was pretty sad. My personal advice: bypass this location all together, it sucks and is the biggest mess...
Read moreI remember I used to eat at LJS restaurants as a kid with my parents. Back then they had more Pirate, Boat style decorations, silver colored coins for kids and collectibles. The outdoor decor reminded you of boarding a ship. As kids we loved that place especially the pirate hats and coin collectibles. LOL. So sometimes when I drive by LJS, I think of those times hanging out with my brother and my dad (who passed away years ago). We would go there after going to ride bikes, Six Flags, or park. When I see LJS I think of that place my dad loved their chicken and hush puppies. I loved the fish as well as the hush puppies. I went there on Monday and I ordered the fish and double hush puppies. VERY tasty. the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the crust was a bit too hard on the fish and my hush puppies were EXCELLENT and the soda was very flat. Other than that it was GREAT and I will go there again in future. It's not a all the time spot for me. I like to cook my own fish but I just SAW on menu they sell Salmon. So NOW I am going back next week and I'm going to try the Salmon and I will let you all know how good it is. They have changed their menu so I guess I will go there more than I have in the past. I recommend it. The menu looks great. The food was good. It looks clean there and right off 288. Perfect! Good service...
