If I didn't looove that chicken from Popeyes, I wouldn't always be in a comical, yet inconvenient, predicament at the only Popeyes location in my city. I frequently go to this Popeyes location and it seems like they are actively trying to put themselves out of business. When visiting this location it is always something -- the drive-through is closed, they're only accepting cash payment, they're out of chicken sandwiches, the drive-through speaker is broken, or they're short on employees. Sometimes, there are even more than one of these factors at play. Tonight, the drive-through was closed (and they appeared short of employees). I was forced to get out of my car and go inside to order my meal. The line was long, and the one man taking the orders, and putting them together for customers to consume, was struggling. If it wasn't for the sweet aroma of spicy chicken filling my nose, I wouldn't have waited 20 minutes in a fast food line to order a meal. But, I stayed. The one man taking orders, who was working harder/ hustling more than anyone I could see on the fry station, was refreshingly friendly for someone who was clearly in a stressful work environment. As I waited for my food, I could see the person in line in front of me actively rating this Popeyes one star. The hardworking employee finally called my number and handed me my much-anticipated meal. He also apologized for the long wait-- a kind gesture. After getting my food, I scurried to my car and sunk my teeth into a juicy, freshly cooked, hot chicken tender and instantly became less annoyed by my whole experience. If it wasn't for the nice man working the register, and the fact that my food was fresh, maybe I too would give this location one star. But until things get even worse than they are, I'll continue to think of this location as a solid 3-star gamble. Your experience may be smooth at this location, or they may have some obstacle you have to overcome to enjoy the Popeyes take on...
Read moreUpdate: December 2022 and looking at recent reviews (last 2 months), still the same bad service and wait times. Corporate when will yall get another Franchise owner in Denton, TX? This Popeyes is the worse I've been to and I've visited Popeyes in several states.
Update: 9 months after original review, I see reviews from the last 2-3 weeks complaining about the same issues. Nothing has changed. Guess I'll continue to only eat Popeyes when I go into the office in Lewisville. Only 1 visit to Popeyes (Lewisville) since initial review.
Update: posted this review 5 months ago. Came here to see if recent reviews indicated an improvement in service. Nothing has changed.
Edit: After posting my review, I read other reviews that have experienced the same issues I had. Wish I had read reviews before I wasted my time. Also, tried to call feedback number on the bottom of receipt and got some b.s. recording. Popeyes in Denton is a joke.
This has to be the worse Popeyes on the planet. Ordered through the app and arrived about 15 minutes later to pickup order. Spent 35 minutes in the drive-thru, which had a sign over the speaker to order at window. Finally get to the window and sit there for another minute before blowing horn to get someone's attention. Manager comes over and precedes to speak broken English (I think he was faking) about only 1 person working, while I'm trying to communicate to him about my order that has already been paid for. Had to show him order on the phone. Then wait another 5 minutes for the order to be made. Asked for his name but again....broken English...may or may not be Armando. Corporate needs to shut this...
Read moreThis is the worst Popeyes ever. Frankly, it's always been that way since I arrived in Denton from Louisiana. However, it's gotten increasingly worse over the years. I occasionally get a craving for Popeyes fried chicken, and around 90% of the time I end up regretting it when I order from here. From the start, they do not allow customers to order any chicken except what is available in combos or dinners. So I have never been allowed to order single pieces of chicken if I want. Also, if I were to order a 2-piece or 3-piece or 4-piece combo/dinner, it would include only certain pieces of chicken: 2-piece was thigh and a leg, 3-piece was thigh, leg, and a wing, and 4-piece was thigh, leg, wing, and a breast. Well, I really only like dark chicken, so 2-piece is the only combo or dinner I would want to order. That's what I did tonight, when I ordered two 2-piece dinners through DoorDash. To my surprise (and dismay), I received a breast and a wing for each order. So now, not only can I not order individual chicken pieces from here or specify the specific pieces I want as part of my combo or dinner, but I also cannot even predict what piece of chicken I will be given based on the combo/dinner size! This was the last straw. I will NEVER order from this Popeyes location again, and when they go out of business, it will not be soon enough. This place has always been a disgrace to Louisiana fried chicken anyway. My fried chicken cravings will just have to wait until I visit Louisiana...
