Sometimes, when you're working these delivery gig apps, you get to see what's actually going on with the restaurants that you might frequent, or might have frequented, or even plan to in the future. You get to see who's kind, who's professional, who the cool owners are, who's got their stuff together, and who really looks out for their customers. A number of places I pick up deliveries from have become places I return to as a customer because of the interaction I have with them. But unfortunately, in the hundreds of times you might have to interact with a restaurant over the course of a few months, you also get to see the worst of the worst, and there have been places that have lost my business as a customer forever. This particular location is one of those places.
I feel like sometimes restaurants forget that not only are we customers ourselves, but we're paying attention to how they deal with customer orders, and we make recommendations as well, or make sure customers know on drop off to avoid certain places in the future.
This is coming from someone orders here all the time, as well. Or at least used to. The folks who work at this location ... and this has been the case for nearly a year, now ... tend to either be the rude type (who ignore you for 15 to 20 minutes while they make eye contact with you ... you're not baristas, you're making pizzas; chill) or the completely incompetent and unprofessional type with the worst attitude (who for some reason, are actually tasked with talking to customers and delivery folks, which has been the case dealing with them late night, more recently). It's more than frustrating; I've actually gotten more and more impatient with this nonsense every visit as this point, literally cancelling orders and walking away rather than patronize this place or let anyone else.
This is especially true for the person they had working at the window on New Year's Eve: definitely someone who does not have the personality to be in a customer facing spot and should probably be focusing on just making the pizzas. A lot of us drivers will go out of our way to avoid picking up here lately, too (partially because of the person I just mentioned), so if you're having a hard time getting orders, or they're taking forever, that would be why.
Just a heads up. The pizza itself is great. But until they get it together, I would just choose a...

Yesterday, we got some coupons in the mail for Blackjack Pizza so we decided to give it a try.
At 6:10, I placed our order online. The time quoted was 45 minutes. I put a note on there for the driver to call me when they left because they are 6 minutes away and I needed time to get downstairs to meet them. I called them at 6:55 (45 minutes later) to see if our order had left the store because no one had called me. The person I spoke to told me that our order was the next to leave the store. No one ever called me so I called them back again at 7:10 (an hour into this ordeal). The person I spoke to told me that our order was out for delivery. No one ever called us so we went down stairs to meet the driver. At 7:33, we called again because no one had shown up and we had been standing down there for a while (about 20 minutes). While I was on the phone, the driver pulled up. His car had no sign, he had no uniform, he did not greet us, and he pulled our order out a hot bag that had someone else's food in it.
That was the first time we haven't tipped a delivery driver and we usually tip very well. I felt terrible about it until I went upstairs and saw what we had waited an hour and 23 minutes for.
I ordered a salad. I am allergic to onions so I requested that no onions be put on the salad. To my surprise, there were onions on the salad. I had to throw it away.
We ordered a deep dish cheese bread. It was room temperature at best. The cheese was solid from cooling and there was no parm whatsoever on it.
The boneless wings were supposed to be bbq. There was both hot sauce and barbecue sauce on them. They were also room temperature at best. We had to put them under the broiler to warm them up.
All 3 of the ranches that we ordered were blue cheese.
I called back again to let them know that every single thing we ordered was wrong and was told that I should be happy that I got my money back. It was very rude and uncalled for. I never got upset on the phone and I was never rude or condescending to them.
For our first time with this place, we are not impressed and will never order again. While we were standing downstairs waiting for our order, Domino's drivers came and went twice. Guess where we will be ordering...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience with Blackjack Pizza, and I feel compelled to share it with others to avoid similar frustrations. I called them because my daughter loves pizza, and they assured me they were delivering.
Around 6:50 PM, I placed an order, eagerly awaiting a delicious meal for my family. However, nobody showed up until 8 PM. Concerned, I called the pizza place, and they apologized, promising that the order was on its way and would arrive in 15 minutes.
At 8:30 PM, there was still no sign of the delivery. I decided to call them again to inquire, and this time, they informed me that they had received another order and were waiting to deliver both together to Denver Grand Hyatt hotel. This miscommunication was frustrating, to say the least.
Another 40 minutes passed, and it was already 9:10 PM. My daughter's excitement turned into disappointment, and we were left hungry and tired. I called them once more, expressing my frustration, and their response shocked me. They casually suggested canceling the order after wasting over 2 and a half hours of our evening.
This level of service is beyond ridiculous and highly unprofessional. Waiting for more than two hours without any proper updates or accountability is unacceptable. By the time we realized the situation, most other kitchens were closed, leaving us with very limited options for dinner.
I urge everyone to be cautious when considering Blackjack Pizza for delivery. Such disregard for their customers time and lack of communication is appalling. I hope my review serves as a warning for others, and I sincerely hope that the management of Blackjack Pizza takes this feedback seriously and makes significant improvements in their delivery service.
Remember, customers deserve respect, punctuality, and transparency, which were severely lacking in my experience with...
