I've attended a show here before that was much better organized. Perhaps it was because it was geared to and older crowd my first time in attendance. Buyer beware. First , you are better off purchasing general admission tickets. Believe me when I say " You will have the same experience perhaps even better and cheaper." V.I.P on the balcony, you will be standing not unless you throw a couple more hundred for seats. Seating on the lower level starts off at three hundred. Did I mention yet you will see better standing on the floor?
The venues rules varies on who is checking you in and if they are checking you out. Young and what they consider attractive. You will see 😉 luck be a lady tonight. We live in a world that's based on greed. History will always repeat itself. Some want history to repeat itself. Case in point Astro World. The " band" performing was " Chase Atlantic." My daughter was a huge fan. I went in support. The ViP line? "No such thing "in my John Mayer voice. Again , you would be better off paying the thirty some dollars for General Admission as opposed to over three hundred and some dollars that was charged for the over hyped Meet and Greet.
Doors opened at 4:00 p.m least they said they opened at 4: 00. Madness and mayhem when they finally did. Kids running and pushing staff either burnt out not equipped didn't care or a combination of all of the above. Either way it was dangerous. Back to the VIP . A - list celebrities and their management teams might handle the situation different but in this case all this included was three songs ( sound check ) a babbling - unorganized, Q&A. No autographs no pictures. If you pushed your way up front you might get an autograph but no pictures. Raise your hand and if you get lucky we will answer kinda scam. Made up this ever so expensive -so called- yet anything but VIP. Merch promised 😂 will be mailed
After this nightmare on Colfax street everyone was ushered back outside and in line where it was written the show would start at 7:00 p.m. Here is where i bring up the organization or lack there of again . Form one single line that wasn't enforced and everyone who paid for VIP would regain entrance when the doors opened first. Again , No such thing. Someone took it upon themselves to mark their hands with numbers in marker to ensure they and their camp got in first minus the VIP. Instead of one line being formed it turned into pushing and two lines being formed.
Drinks , yes even water and soda are overly priced. The staff that did their jobs and weren't there for a hook up with a clueless teen were very friendly but again it's business. Cash rules everything around me.
Show finally starts actually before it started as they crammed more and more in someone was already in medical. People running up and down stairs pushing. People passing out up front. People begging for water.
If you stand you will ache in places you never knew you had. The air system is poor. I would recommend wearing loose breathable clothing and comfortable shoes. It gets ⚡ dangerously hot and humid. Be prepared to pay 20 something dollars for parking and be prepared to walk. You will get towed. Be aware of your surroundings the venue is on Colfax. Very bad part of Denver. Littered with crime and sketchy people. I saw several men sharing a crack pipe on our way up. The venue might be nostalgic and beautiful but keep in mind your favorite artist has security and protection a safe way out and...
Read moreSTOP SCROLLING! Let me take you on a journey through my absolutely horrible experience at the fillmore/Live Nation. I bought my two VIP tickets to Bad Omens within the first minutes of them dropping and bought the most expensive package offered. The VIP package offered said the package include “individual photo with bad omens, exclusive signed poster, bad omens initiation mask, vip laminate, early access to merch table”. Upon my arrival after driving around looking for parking and walking around a mile to the venue we were greeted with a very long line. Someone waiting in line said VIP is up in the front. We went up to the box office and were told VIP is on the side of the building, walking to the side we saw a fenced area for “meet and greet”.. we got to the VIP doors and started talking to another couple who said they had the same issues, so i walked back to the front entrance and talked with the security in the “meet and greet” section thinking maybe we would be on that list. Well, as you would assume we were not on that list so we were sent back to the side doors and told to check with security inside the VIP side doors. The lady in the VIP side door was very quick to tell me to go back to the box office. Walked back to the box to triple check that we weren’t getting the VIP package i thought i had paid for. Sent back to the VIP side doors. We got inside and checked with the people that scanned our tickets and they sent us to the guest service desk. Once again we were told we wouldn’t be getting any of the VIP stuff. Just access to the VIP balcony. We got up to the balcony, were brought our food and drinks to our table where we sat for the first TWO HOURS of the show. Right when Bad Omens was brought on stage we were asked to see our wrist bands and told that oh, actaully.. we’re not VIP enough for the table we have to do VIP STANDING! For TWO HOURS we were not a problem, but the second the headliner comes on oh actually we’re a problem??? Stood on the balcony, couldn’t see Noah Sebastians face so we went down to the GA standing where oh, you can’t stand on the stairs. So we stood there for a couple minutes when Noah lost his voice, the only thing the Fillmore and Livenation didn’t ruin for us. Thank you very much for the worst concert i have ever been to in my life, i will never spend another dollar on Livenation and i will never spend another dollar at the Fillmore either. Thank you also for ruining...
Read moreI have attended only one event at this venue. IMO, not a great venue. Live and learn.
They had signs posted outside the entrance, purportedly to direct people into the proper line, for admission. At the outset, the signs were posted incorrectly. For those who arrived early, chaos ensued.
Flat ballroom floor. At the event I attended, general admission has access to the floor, period. Weirdly low stage, and in general, view of the stage from the floor is comprehensively abysmal. Other venues in Denver have a sloping floor, and/or balcony space that is available to general admission. Not the Fillmore.
House sound and light was "primitive" at best (indeed, a number of other adjectives come to mind). Several smaller venues I have attended in Denver seem to put the Fillmore to shame... no contest. The headline acts had their own equipment, fortunately, but the rest received no help.
It was rather shocking to have my wallet rifled through by security at the entrance, before being allowed to enter. They dumped out my change purse, all my credit cards, everything in my billfold. "Why", I asked? Answer: "Drugs" (the person asserting this did not make eye contact, I was just cattle to them. Moo!). A) I have lived in Denver for years, attended events at many other venues, this is the only place that has ever done this. In was, in fact, completely unexpected. B) I am NOT A USER, and I resent being mindlessly profiled as one. Insulting. C) Beyond that, they serve alcohol in the venue... and during the last hour of the event people were collapsing, in various states of incapacitation, some requiring help from security just to get off the floor (lots of fun for the functional members of the audience to have 2-3 security forcing their way through a crowd during an event). Having witnessed this, I would speculate that "substance abuse" is actually OK with the Fillmore, as long as there is a fast buck in it for the establishment (cynical self-serving hypocrisy? oh noes!).
Speaking for myself: I am going to avoid the Fillmore from now on. If an act I like books into the Fillmore, I can content myself with concert video on my big-screen TV (YouTube, or whatever).
IMO....
