I am visiting from out of town and was told to visit death & co. It’s first come first serve, we went on a Sunday evening. I am staying at a hotel about 18min Uber ride away.
The weather was a little chilly and rainy so I was hoping to get in a get seated quickly. Spent money on an Uber to get to the restaurant and found out the wait time was ridiculous.
The wait was over an hour! the hostess made it seem like it was only a 20 minute wait. So we agreed to wait around since the hype of this place was worth the wait.
They have a system where they will text you when your table is ready. There is bar seating, tables, and couches.
The interior was absolutely beautiful. The staff came off a little cold and straight to the point. I Didn’t feel very welcomed but also they seemed short staffed.
There is a Mexican restaurant across the street we got a drink from while we waited. We almost gave up after the hour wait and even ordered food from the Mexican place thinking death and co forgot about us on the wait list. As soon as we were about to give up and Uber back to our hotel across town I got a text after 75 min saying our table was ready.
We got a cute spot on one of the couches. Waitress was awful, she took forever to take our order. Simply to get us water took 10-15 min. Then again with the food and drinks. It was SO SLOW!!!!! The drinks and food were pretty darn tasty.! But with the bad staffing management and unfriendly staff with the 75 min wait made this place not worth it.
Really disappointed in the experience here. I was hoping for a better one with the high recommendation...

The drinks were great, well made. Our waitress was kind and helpful. But what blew us away was the absolutely amazing staff. We parked on the street and a drunk driver hit our car. The hostess saw the crash and saw the driver attempt to leave, and went as far as to stand in front of the car to prevent her from driving away. The entire staff stepped in immediately, organising so that half could prevent the driver from leaving and the rest could maintain top tier service inside. The [REDACTED] did end up slipping through the cracks like the snake she is before police could arrive, BUT staff stayed outside to give statements as well as writing us the kindest note left on our windshield to notify us of the incident. The gag is we were inside the whole time and never noticed a thing. That’s how mesmerising the atmosphere and experience are. Plus it goes to show that they handled the situation with so much grace and efficiency. They didn’t even know the car belonged to one of their guests, but treated it as if it were their own and showed a level of care and responsibility you rarely see.
It speaks volumes about the character of this team and how much they look out for others. We are beyond grateful for their quick thinking and compassion. Death & Co has incredible cocktails, but even more impressive is the quality of the people working there. Our car was wrecked, but the night was far from ruined as the acts of kindness from this staff restored my faith in the goodwill of others. We will be...
Read moreWe arrived at 615pm with a party of 5. We were told there wasn’t anything available & we could go across the street or next door. 🤦♀️. We asked if we could order a drink without a table and was told that wasn’t possible. One of the couches was available, a table of 4 and table of 5-6 off the bar area in the back were all empty. We were told they were for other parties that they were calling, but never arrived. The hostess asked the receptionist at the hotel desk to call some of the parties. I checked back twice since both sofas were then available & was told we had moved up to 7th on the list. A booth by the window also opened up & we were told that was also for someone else. As we stood by the hotel desk we saw 4 parties of 3, one party of 5 and 2 parties of 2 all leave after talking to the hostess. We were finally seated after 35 minutes and the tall, blonde hostess gave us each water. By the time we were asked what we would like to drink our table was ready next door (which we were given a 45 minute) wait time. It was horrific service on the hostess part, plus all the money you missed out on with our party of 5 and all the other parties who left. When we left the table of 2 by the windows and the booth were still empty. I know for certain this party of 5 will never return and we’ve all been there many times before. We could not believe the terrible customer service and very callous attitude of...
