I was visiting Denver and was looking for an after dinner treat. It was too chilly outside for ice cream but I found Miss Molly's Bakery which was open late on a Saturday night. When we entered, we were greeted with a warm welcome from a smiling face and we took a few minutes to decide what to try, finally settling on a couple of whoopie pies and a molasses cookie. The chocolate whoopie pie was absolutely divine. The chocolate cake outer layers were soft and spongy, lightly sweet and not overwhelming. The cream was rich and sweet and the amount was generous. The molasses cookie tasted like it came straight out of grandma's kitchen and directly in to our mouths. The texture was just perfect, soft but with a slight bite. The flavor of the cookie was very spice forward and the added sugar on the outside gave it some extra sweetness and a pleasant slight crunch. To top it all off, this was probably the most reasonably priced food I had in the city while I was there. I had to double check that everything had been rung up because the price just seemed too low for what we received. This is a wonderful spot to grab some handmade baked goodies at a price that can't be beat. I'll definitely be back if I am in...

My wife and I had recently left The Museum and I wanted some pastries. We were driving down Colfax and I saw the sign for Miss Molly's Bakery across from Bonfils Theater. We circled the block, parked and proceed inside. The Bakery was very clean and spacious. I regret that I didn't get the name of the gentleman behind the counter, because he was delightful! There was a display case full of goodies! Lemon pies, coconut pies, turtle cheesecake, red velvet cheesecake, peach cobbler cheesecake, cinnamon rolls and I know that I missed some. I didn't know what to get so I got a cinnamon roll,a lemon pie, and a slice of peach cobbler cheesecake. I ate the cinnamon roll tonight after I warmed it up and Baaabbbyyyy, I was not disappointed!! It had the perfect ratio of cinnamon and dough. The dough was excellent, it wasn't overworked and tough nor underworked and chewy. It was perfect. The filling wasn't CINNAMON with a hint of sugar but a nice cinnamon/sugar combination. The icing was too much for me, however I don't like icing on anything so we won't count that against them. I'll review the others later on. If the cinnamon roll is any indication, I'm looking forward to them.

Update: The Peach Cobbler...

First impressions are everything! My first time here, I arrived 10 minutes after opening time, doors locked, although I did see two employees baking in the back. There was another customer waiting outside as well, I had a nice visit with him! 15 minutes later (other customer already left) a person showed up and opened the door. She didn’t acknowledge me at all. I asked if they were indeed open, all she said was yes, leaving me standing outside. The lights were still not turned on, but I went inside anyway. Behind the counter now, that same person completely ignored me while she went about messing with things, her back toward me. I asked again, “you guys are open, right? She said “yes.” She turned back to what she was doing, leaving me thinking she really just wanted me to leave!! She finally turned and asked,“do you want something?” “ yes! I want 10 blueberry, lemon muffins!” After paying, I decided to let that person know just how horrible her treatment of me was! It was as if she truly would have been fine and actually seemed as if, she were inviting me to simply walk out!! Unfortunate, because the muffins are amazing!! However, the way I was treated, I’ll...

Open area simple design place. Wasn’t sure what desserts they’d have. They didn’t have much of anything this Sunday night. We tried the German Chocolate Cake as it was the only thing I thought I could eat. I don’t do Cheesecake and they only had a couple of those and some cookies. I really enjoyed the cake being cold. It was good also. If there were more options I would’ve chosen something else. The cake was 4-Star and they had several of that same type of cake available. The attendant was a bit relaxed also but I can’t blame him, there were only a couple options this night. He said everything was sold. Check their menu out, call in and Try them for yourself

Saw this place on my walk through the neighborhood and I’m really glad I stopped in! Service was wonderful and even though it was later in the day, the pecan roll was stick fresh, soft and sticky! Overflowing with cinnamon and pecan flavor; truly a work of art. One of the owners said that before lunch, there would be more selection of goods. Local lunch rush and high school kids clean them out! Just like any good bakery, the earlier you get here the better
but, even if you’re late (like in my case), the selection is still fresh and tasty! Great atmosphere to come chill, like a Starbucks, but without all the hype!

What a nice bakery with a lot of tasty options! Cookies, cake (whole and slices), cupcakes, pies, and even savory options like calzones and baked ziti. Great variety and looks like they have different monthly flavors. I ultimately went for a red velvet cupcake - classic with cream cheese icing. And also their giant cookies are individually packaged so I got a few peanut butter and classic chocolate chip. Their carrot cake looks amazing so I will be back to try that.
