Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Denver

This business is extremely dysfunctional. I have no idea from my experiences and these other reviews how corporate has not addressed this specific store. I have never had consistently worse service in pizza in my life. During the pandemic we probably ordered a little too much food from here and overall only about a quarter of the orders were correct or on time. From forgotten drinks, cold pizzas, pizzas that were made and sat around for an hour before we called and had to ask for a remake before it even left to the store, to just being told "we don't have delivery drivers working today, its up to door dash", last night's issue was the final straw.

Ordered two pizzas and one showed up wrong shortly after one hour. They gave us a full refund and did a remake that showed up in 50 minutes, or two hours after the order was placed.

It. Was. Cold. I also felt like they did not put extra sauce as ordered and I was told that they are sorry my standards are not the same as theirs. The only pizza I have ordered in my life with extra sauce is from this exact store. My standards were literally set by the store. I asked if a remade cold pizza is their standard. Her answer was no, however, she proceeded to blame the door dash driver.

This company will only blame other people for their internal issues. I asked to leave my name and number and to have the owner call me personally and I was told that is not possible. She could leave my number her boss and that's all that can be done.

I will note that they do go above and beyond to address the issues that THEY, NOT door dash OR THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS, create. From free remade pizzas to refunds, they always make an attempt. The issue is do you want to wait two hours to receive a cold pizza time...

I’ve had one of the worst experiences at a papa johns that I’ve ever had this location. I’ve been a consistent customer of papa johns for years, I genuinely really like their food, when they do it right. I ordered a large cheese pizza, light cheese and well done around 10:30am and I ordered online. First of all, the website doesn’t tell you the estimated delivery time until after you’ve placed your order. I had tried to order from this same location a couple nights before and the wait was at least 2 hours and the store called to offer a to cancel my order vs wait. So I opted to cancel, not that big of a deal. So I order this morning and once again it says the wait will be 2 hours. So I call the store telling them I want to cancel my order because I don’t want to wait 2 hours. The employee on the phone explains that they have school pizzas being delivered so they tell customers a longer time than necessary. I ask how long it will be and he says 45 minutes. So I say okay that’s fine I’ll keep my order. After over an hour later I check my phone to see how close it is to arriving, and it says it’s been delivered, it has not been. So I call the store and tell them I want a refund, I don’t even care if I get my food I just want a refund. So the guy on the phone doesn’t even apologize, says he refunded it and the food will be free. When the food actually got here it was cold, and wasn’t well done. It was just a very disappointing experience and the employees clearly didn’t care what was going on. The worst part is that I shouldn’t have to assert myself and act rude just to get my order. If the employee had just been honest with me about how long it would take then I would’ve cancelled my order and none of this would’ve...

I have been coming to this location for the last 6 months and have noticed that they are legitimately utilizing slave labor. There are plenty of employees to get them through the day time and early evening rushes but once it's night time and the weekend they leave the ENTIRE operation to be handled by ONE Black Woman. By herself. In a bad area. Being the ONLY employee. Waiting in the parking lot for my order, I hear gun shots from local gangs. The fact that Papa Johns allows this to happen is disgusting. I HIGHLY doubt they pay her enough to risk her life so that the drunk people of Denver can get their sub par pizza at 230am delivered to their door step by door dash drivers. PAPA JOHNS LITERALLY ALLOWS SLAVE LABOR AT THIS LOCATION. If you have any sense of morality- I URGE you to be on the right side of history and boycott this location. It's been since at least March of 2023 till now (July 1, 2023) that this Papa Johns has been literally testing their most fantastic, helpful, reliable employee as a slave. And when she's lucky enough to have ANY kind of help from other "employees" I can feel the tension the moment I walk in. They all speak down to her and get in her way on purpose and trip her up just to somehow make it seem like she's the problem when she's the one keeping the dang place running on the busiest nights!
