If I could use only one word to describe Pete's kitchen it would be incredible. I have now lived in the area for nearly 2 months and I have visited Pete's AT LEAST 3 times a week. Typically my server is, Megan, who is attentive, quick, and caring. I drink a ridiculous amount of iced tea and Megan makes sure my cup is never empty, and my food is served quick and correct, all while doing it with a smile. The other person who frequently serves me is Kyle, who is phenomenal, as well. The chef (that is normally here when I am), Justin cooks some of the most incredible food in the Denver area. Their breakfast and lunch options are equally delicious. My two favorites are the Gyro Sandwich with fries and the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. The gyro, in particular, is absolutely masterful. Chock-full of meat, a lamb and beef combo, sliced right off the spit, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce all combined in a soft and freshly warmed pita, (I add feta cheese to mine). I'm salivating just thinking about it despite just finishing one! The evening manager Tanya is great, she has always made sure I have had a great experience. All in all I have to say Pete's Kitchen is such a refreshing restaurant, 5 star service and food, in a great hole-in-the-wall atmosphere that makes you feel like family. I will continue to visit my FAVORITE restaurant multiple times a week! Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Guess we should've tried something different from all the reviews that they have amazing food but none of us were impressed. One got cheeseburger, 2 of us got fried chicken sandwich & the other a cowboy burger. The cheeseburger patty was a big disappointment. It was very very thin not a diner kind of burger we expected. Definitely not fresh & homemade by any means but frozen. The fried chicken sandwiches were the same. I was expecting like a small sized chicken fried chicken (again like other diners) but not at all. It looked like a damn frozen chicken patty from the grocery store & tasted like it. I was extremely disappointed by this b/c I originally picked out the chicken fried chicken but since it was lunch I opted for the sandwich thinking it was ganna be just as tasty. The cowboy burger was the best tasting due to the very tasty BBQ sauce but again the patty was extra thin frozen patty. On another bad note it had the whole end of an egg shell in the burger. There's no egg on this burger so don't know what happened w/ that. I guess that's better then a bug! Lol. Wish we would've come for breakfast or tried an entrée instead of burgers. Oh well maybe another time

Great classic american diner food with a greek twist. The gyro plate was great. Prices weren't too bad either. Atmosphere is like a truck stop diner with kinda a waffle house feel if you know what that is. The kids grilled cheese was great too. Fries were great and fried well. The greek salad was on point with the feta cheese and greek olives. Cdc guidelines were being followed but there were some flys around and while we were eating an employee came and threw down a huge rug next to is on the floor kicking up some dust, wasnt cool at all. Then we noticed a older chef shaving the gyro meat without a mask on at all. Overall a good experience but could use some better customer service. The waitresses were more into chatting with themselves than checking on customers

First visit, weekday lunchtime and was immediately seated. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with soup, another had the Pete's Burger, which was huge but, undoubtedly, very tasty as my friend can attest to. Service was very friendly and fast. This is a Denver institution and it shows from its decor and atmosphere. Am I complaining? No! I'd rather have this old-rustic ambiance with the old delicious food Pete's is known for. As we were leaving, we noticed that at the back of the bldg. was an enclosed al fresco area which looked like place that would cater more to night/bar customers. I am not sure of this though. This area was more updated. Love that coffee is offered, afterall, what's a diner without coffee. Will definitely be back.

Oh how I love diners and Pete's Kitchen on Colfax fits the diner archetype to a tee - it's on East Colfax, and it's been here for decades, and it has a great, Mom-and-Pop type of vibe. Menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the prices are reasonable, which is a hard thing to say for a lot of places these days. There are a lot of tables and seating, as well as counter seating that gives you a good luck at the cooks' culinary work. Parking is on the street with parking meters. I saw a sign that said the restaurant "is open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays." Highly recommended if you're looking for a bit of nostalgia, good food, and a bit of Denver history all thrown in. Recommended!
