This was the worst experience I have ever had at a bar. If there was a zero star rating, that's what they would be getting. We came in for my birthday because my friend wanted to buy me a pickle shot. It was her, my husband, and I. We did try a pickle shot, which I admit was delicious. Then we each got a drink and went to sit down at an open booth. We were having a pretty relaxed time just sitting down talking and watching the music videos that play on your TV's. My husband went up and got us another drink then went to the bathroom. While he was in the bathroom he saw the security guard talking to his friends that apparently wanted a booth. Then, when my husband left the bathroom the security guard quickly followed him and came up behind him and said that he had too much to drink and he needed to be escorted out of the bar. He wouldn't even let him tell us what was happening, he began pushing my husband out the door by his shoulder through the crowd of people. Luckily, me and my friend saw the commotion and followed them. I kept asking what was going on and the body guard wouldn't tell me until we were outside the bar. So, we paid $30 for a round of drinks that we didn't even get to try and got kicked out because my husband was"too drunk" after 1 beer and 1 shot. My husband is extremely shy and wasn't being loud or causing any sort of scene, there were several patrons there that were clearly wasted, and we had taken a LYFT downtown so we didn't drive. Normally if you think someone is too drunk at a bar but they are not being belligerent, wouldn't you then just stop serving them alcohol, not make them purchase a brand new round and then kick them out in a very humiliating manner. But that doesn't even matter because we were not intoxicated in the least. You have ruined my birthday so I will use every method I can to get my...
Read moreFirst of all, I don't like going downtown. Second of all, when I go downtown and someone asks me the best bar to go to, I always lead them to Refinery. Excellent, over the top service, chill atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Third of all, and most important today, honesty. I have OCD and know when I lose something, no matter how rough of day. Post-Rockies, I pulled out my credit card and my $100 bill popped out on the bar. Stupid? Yes. Sloppy? Sure. But, I knew I lost it, when I lost it, and where I lost it. Tommy, thanks so much. I bartended for 14 year and would have done the same thing, but also would have had a tough time doing it. I told my story, and Tommy threw the $100 bill back at me. Huge karma points, and nice to know there are still sincere, honest people out there. Amanda, you already know you are the bomb, and wife and I always are glad to see you. People, if you go downtown, or visiting, and just want a cool bar that is reasonably priced, schedule in the Refinery. Thanks again, Tommy....
Read moreI recently visited The Refinery in Denver, CO, and had an exceptional experience thanks to their fantastic bartender, Nicole. From the moment I walked in, Nicole’s warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel right at home. Her expertise and enthusiasm for crafting the perfect drink were evident in every sip. Nicole's recommendations were spot-on, and her attention to detail made the evening truly special. While I didn’t order any food, the drinks alone were enough to make this a five-star experience. If you’re in Denver and looking for a top-notch bar experience, The Refinery is the place to go, and Nicole is the bartender you...
