Multiple stays here and may be going downhill..probably wont stay again unless significantly cheaper than other options. 3 stars though overal because 9k points on a Saturday night (all Hyatts were 9k other than Thompson which was only 17k! Denver must be hurting bad!)
Good location and new + clean, but overall disappointing stay and better hyatt options in area for similar/same price/points. Biggest downfalls:
Housekeeping came into room without knocking at 850am. If I didn't happen to be right next to the door (door hit me), he would have gotten full naked shot of my girlfriend in shower. Odd time and have never had this happen without knock. Asked front desk for 4pm checkout after resultingly and put dnd sign up, but didn't seem like a big deal or surprise to them.
Restaurant was very bad for breakfast, likely because they noted its their last month of operations and are basically cleaning out the fridge. Only 4* basic menu items for breakfast, one of which can't get as hotel guests free breakfast option (amd definitely no one other than from hotel would visit this place, menu and prices are way out of touch). Dont open until 9am on sunday. Girlfriend asked if they had GF bread twice prior to and during ordering, first person said "yes", second person said "I think so but will confirm", didn't hear anything until they just brought the food without bread (perhaps she would have ordered other option and/or not at all as was the "square breakfast" and without bread/toast was just $20 for 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon)? Hilarious/worse part - they charge 23% service charge on entire bill, and prices are already inflated for what you get. Last stay they had a separate "gloablist" menu as well that was underwheling, esepially compared to what other Hyatts are doing for globalist members in denver (dont think the next place will be much better). Probably should have already shut their doors already here.
Beds (especially pillows) do not seem to be on par with other Hyatt Grand beds/bedding, which seems odd for new property. Could stack all 4 pillows on top of one another and would be instantly flat. This is my 140th night at hyatt properties this year, and typically I look forward to hotels when noted they have Hyatt Grand beds because I know what to expect.
Rooms are very small and dark (is OK, understand centrics are generally smaller like Moxys, but this was my thoughts even with upgraded corner room). Other centric *Austin I did not have...
Read moreFirst thing we encounter when we got to the hotel is that there is no parking on site, but they have a VERY small space for a valet. It is an alleyway. Which was full when we arrived. We were able to pull the car in and there was only a girl at the counter who quickly told us that she was not the valet and that she was just helping out. She gave us the ticket, and all was well. The night at the hotel was ok. We went for a Rockies game and wanted to stay late. Woke up the next morning, went to collect my car. Noticed that the center console had been riffled though and my stuff had been taken out. I realized that a wallet with store cards was stolen. Leaving cards in my car in Denver is a bad move on my part, I know, but figured they were hidden, and we are paying $59 a night to keep my car safe so it shouldn't be an issue. Told the guy at the valet booth that my wallet had been stolen. He looked at me like a deer in headlights. It took him several minutes to come up with a plan. He brings me out a form to fill out, which ended up not being a form to fill out. he then brings me a sticky note pad and tells me to put my name and phone number on it and if anything comes up, they will call me. he also provided me with a business card. When I asked about bringing in the police, he tells me I can call them. So I did and I filed a report on the phone but the police also didn't come out. I let everyone know that my car was not broken into so it was either one of their valets or they left the car unlocked. Either way, the hotel was liable for any stolen items. The people at the hotel couldn't care less. We also started informing everyone who was waiting for their car to make sure nothing was stolen as well. We did find one other car that had a pair of sunglasses stolen. So long story short, do not use their valet because they do not care. If the hotel staff is so unfazed by a theft that was most likely done by a valet staff member, why would they be fazed by someone in housekeeping stealing from your room. We are supposed to feel safe leaving our things with valets and in our hotel rooms. What happened to the...
Read moreUpon arrival I was super impressed with Jaylin the night manager, he was cordial and nice! The rooms are average but clean. Unfortunately the good news stops here.... The hotel is more interested in booking their rooms for revenue that anyone is permitted to stay. That includes a rowdy group of teenagers from a soccer program that runs wild thru the hotel yelling profanities and threatening customers. The morning GM offered to look into the matter but I believe this was lip service since I heard nothing back. Let me add that our organization rented space for our events that were double booked due to poor planning by their events coordinator(EC) - this EC swiftly kicked us out of our conference room and told to use a common area to meet. We are a resourceful bunch so we gathered some tables and chairs and started to meet.... Next the event coordinator said we could not meet in the common area because that would bother "other" customers - I offered to keep it very quiet to which she said that it was a fire hazard. I wish she had one story and stuck to it instead of playing favorites for who rented what space. Regardless, we went down to the apple blossom restaurant who accommodated our meeting (great people in the restaurant!). Next, I returned to my room to find my laundry "folded" neatly.... CREEEEEEPY!! SUPER CREEPY! I called the front desk and the manager Sierra says that they will bring a "do not disturb" right up and update the account..... 30 minutes later still no tag so I head down to the lobby to get it myself. The story isn't over.... The elevator stops at the 7th floor and says "out of service" so I get off and press the button for another elevator. 10 minutes later I opt to take the stairs. When I got to the front desk, Sierra was dismissive and rude and ultimately tried to make me feel like I was a nuisance. Newsflash Hyatt - YOUR HOTEL SUCKS and I WILL go back to using the Marriott for my future stays. I simply cannot believe this is a HYATT...
