I visited today with my wife excited to enjoy a self guided tour of illusions. The ladies working the front counter were kind and helpful, even offering to check for different sizes of hoodies she was looking at. Our issues arose when we started making our way through the museum. While there are a lot of interesting photo opportunities we did not appreciate being hassled to take pictures when we did not want to. Out of the 3 employees spread out in the museum only 1 respected our wishes not to take a picture when asked. We were perfectly happy taking pictures on our own, at our own pace, with the illusions that we chose. The other 2 employees insisted we take a picture. The first one was very aggressive even after us declining and while the second did respect our right to say no, they still entered my personal space while looking at a different illusion. Is it in the employee training to insist on helping people with pictures? Because that is absolutely what it felt like. On top of feeling hassled by the employees the music was also played very loudly. I knew to expect children at this museum but I did not know to expect the sounds of loud children mixed with blasting music. If you are someone with sensory issues, this is not the place for you!! I, myself, got extremely overwhelmed after looking into the spinning tunnel as children were screaming and music was blaring. My only suggestion would be to implement a color coded wristband system. One color for patrons who wish to be interacted with and assisted with illusions and another for those who would feel more comfortable being left alone and given space to ask for assistance if needed. Kids seem to love it but if you're an adult, especially one with sensory issues, it may be best to skip this and opt for a more...
Read moreIt's reasonably priced in my opinion, but it is a surprisingly short museum. It's very cool and fun if you go with someone to take photos, and most of the staff is helpful and kind in showing you how to take them to get the illusion effect. We had a lot of fun, but our experience got kind of spoiled when the guy at the end started rushing us along. He seemed joking and friendly at first, but the more he kept instructing us on how to take photos, the more he kept seeming pushy and rude if you didn't follow his directions EXACTLY (it didn't help that he didn't explain things very clearly). After he helped us line our images up in the end mirror illusion for a photo, he said that I looked "kinda weird on my side, but whatever." Well, I was waiting for him to stop instructing my husband's side and say he's taking the photo - with us unprepared, he took the picture before either of us could be more engaged then just said "there ya go." He already took the photo. In any manner, it was the same for any photos he took; he didn't say when he was taking the photo at all, so how to know when pose right? After that, we just wanted to get out of his area and tried walking away/saying no, but he kept trying to get us to take different photos (some that we really could have taken ourselves too). At the same time he was really rushy and pushy to hurry us. When we finally were able to leave him, we realized that was just the end. So it felt short, but I don't think that would have mattered as much if it didn't end on the...
Read moreThey refused to let my 4 year old use their restroom. Every weekend we look for fun places in Denver and ran across this place. It was our first time there, so we were asking for info. We were FULLY PLANNING on purchasing tickets. A 4 year old does not have the same bladder size as an adult, and he cannot hold his urine in for long because he is prone to UTIs. My husband asked NICELY if he can take him to the restroom while I purchased tickets. She said we couldn't until we paid. My husband then told her he really needs to pee and he was either going to pee inside or outside the establishment, but we were not going to let him pee on himself. She then said "that thing is not going to pee inside". So my husband did what he said he was going to do. We were not going to look for another place for him to use the restroom because he would have not made it. So AFTER she was FULLY AWARE this would happen, she still proceeded to charge us and let us in. Not even 15 minutes later we were asked to leave. Why let us in in the first place then if you were WARNED what would happen? All they did was take our money. The only reason we STILL went in and paid after being REFUSED A BASIC NECESSITY was because our 2 older kids wanted to check the place out. Per Ally's Law, it is ILLEGAL to deny the use of a public restroom to anyone who has bladder problems. We will be pursuing...
