I visited this bar one winter night with some friends. When we got there, the main door, and the garage door were both wide open with no bouncer. We had completely lost track of time and unfortunately it was close to closing time. There was no bouncer at the door so anyone could walk in. There was 20 minutes left till closing time and It was also freezing outside, so we stepped in just to plan our ride home. As soon as we stepped in the bartender was extremely loud and rude telling us he wasn’t serving. We were looking to get warm and plan our ride home. Then the “bouncer” who looked like a normal customer came up us and tried to get us to leave. I paused because I thought they were extremely rude and really not handling it the best way. They didn’t take the time to listen to us and the way they were talking to us would definitely make anyone feel defensive. The bartender got up from behind the bar and yelled in my face. And collectively the two of them and another man (don’t know what his role is at the establishment) physically pushed me out of the bar and into the patio furniture. Then continued to close the garage door on our face. In no moment did they talk to us calm and nicely. The environment was very hostile and nobody should get talked to this way. That all happened in about 10 minutes maybe less and they left a huge bruise as a reminder. The customer service was not there at all. I understand the feeling of wanting to get off work and also someone walking in right at the last minute. However, our intentions were not fully expressed and not meant to hold up staff from leaving. It’s hard as a customer not to match the staff energy when they are talking to you in such hostile manner. Things would have not escalated if we were greeted nicely from the beginning. I hope the owner knows what type of employees they hired. If you don’t want to get assaulted by the staff don’t go...
Read moreAccidentally left my card there on my birthday. No worries! I call and they have it! I’ll just swing by and pick it up. Gotta pay $2 just to park ugh. But it shouldn’t take too long! I patiently wait for 30 minutes until bartender says “be with you in just a moment!” I wait.. then wait some more… and she keeps serving others at the bar. I gather my courage and walk up to her and explain the situation. She looks at me like I just spewed gibberish at her. Although reluctant, she goes back and checks the cards. Comes back saying “Let me just serve these guys and I’ll keep looking” so I respect it and say okay and wait. After she serves another 15 people I have to reapproach and ask again, hoping she will take a second shot at least. She won’t! Apparently it’s sooooo busy (with 10 ppl standing at the bar) that she can’t look for me and suggests I come back later tonight (when they’re even more busy?) I explain I can’t and ask if anyone else is here to look. She doesn’t want to go ask but finally does. Big man who thinks he rules the world comes out and finds my card after 30 seconds. Then this guy has the audacity to chew me out for my impatience. I understand the stress so I respectfully say ok, tip the woman who did nothing for me cuz I feel bad, and leave. Unprofessional atmosphere, idiotic service, toxic managers, and to top it all off, a bartender who can’t read my name on the card in...
Read moreThe worst service experience I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, do not ever go here.
My friends and I were hopping around, and decided to give Zanzibar a try. There were maybe 30 patrons at 10pm on Saturday in their huge space, which probably should’ve been my first red flag. I went in with a group of 5 friends, and three of them got served right away. My friend and I went up to the bar, and were actively ignored by the two female bartenders (pictured) and a male bartender. Everyone else was served, and they even served people BEHIND US. We waited for 25 minutes, tried waving down any bartender, and still nothing, while the bartenders took shots with their friends, were on their phones and vaping. It got so bad to the point where the bartender went up to a girl next to us, and the patron even said “serve them first, they’ve been waiting forever”, and the blonde bartender responded “yeah I’ll get there” and continued to ignore us. Then, the staff/security guard came up to us and told us to stop pressuring them. My friends who had been served had finished their drinks, and we still had not even been approached, so we left without anything.
I truly have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner, and would rather go home than ever go back into this disgusting establishment. No wonder you can’t get a good crowd on a Saturday night, your staff...
