FRIDAY, Feb 3 update to owner- There was NO parking in the underground garage, in any of the side lots- NO availability. UPMC opens this upcoming week, with 100 employees. In addition, it will be tourist season which is going to increase traffic. I ordered the CSA boxes beginning May 15 from the produce vendor, now I wish I would not have done so as I have no idea how we will be able to pick them up unless we can be there by 7am and wait until the market opens. Also, multiple vendors do not open until 9 or 10am, when the market hours begin at 8am. They are not even prepared to do business. Many of my associates at HMC stated they will not be returning due to the parking issues until it is corrected. Sadly, vendors will lose business due to this situation.
The vendors are wonderful, great selection! The issue is parking, especially handicap parking. There are not enough allocated spaces, too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair and people are parking in the few spaces available to go to other areas within walking distance and not the market! We tried four times to visit, at various times, simply NO parking! This is February, what will it be like when the tourists arrive? Very poor planning and...
Read moreThe Fresh Market is a gem to discover in downtown Hershey! My family loves coming here to purchase our meats and veggies and sweet treats. It's so much fun to buy from these small businesses and directly interact with the owners. We love the local produce from Latimore Valley Farm (also great for meats) and Productive Peasant. Dairy products from Kolbs Farm store are great. I love the fresh artisan bread from Bake Shop VI. My husband is a big fan of the fudge and cookies from Uncle Leroy's. It's so handy to be able to buy from the large selection of nuts, trail mixes and candies at Weaver Nuts - we gave many of as Christmas gifts this year. Ample parking is a plus as well - it makes it easy to zoom in and out with the covered parking garage and being able to walk directly into the garden level. There are SO many delicious options for lunch and dinner on the First Floor with the hot food vendors. I & E Craft kitchen has some delicious soups.. menu options at Owl Hill are always so tasty. Visiting family members are always raving about the Korean food at Kimchee Girl...truly many...
Read moreI've only been here once, but it's a very nice indoor market. The area is kept clean and has a nice layout. There are several restaurants in addition to a variety of food stands... essential oils, jewelry, baked goods, cheeses, meats, grab and go meals, and I even found gluten free bread. It's much more pricey than a Farmer's Market, so if you go, be prepared. All the stands that I went to took debit or credit, and all sellers were knowledgeable and helpful. There is a small lot in front of the building for parking, or you can use the parking garage next to the building. I had my 92 year old mother with me and was able to get her around the 2 floors easily... there was an elevator, restrooms and enough places for her to sit. The hours for this market are great, but Fridays and Saturdays can be crowded. So if you want a thinner crowd, try Thursday like I did. I plan on returning to try out the various places for breakfast,...
