Took my wife here on Friday 1/24. It was our first time trying Indian food and we heard great things about Tikka Shack’s Hershey location. Sadly we didn’t have that experience.
We placed our order, but we were unaware that we could pick our protein. The person taking our order seemed distracted and annoyed. We informed him that it was our first time here, but he didn’t want to help us out or explain the different protein options.
You have to get your own silverware, napkins and stuff for your table. They bring the food to you.
We got our food after a considerable wait. I got the chicken Marsala and my wife got kabobs with a mango salad. My meal was just ok, the rice was dry, but the copious amount of sauce helped. My wife liked her salad, but the pieces of lettuce were huge and needed to be cut up. Also the mango was haphazardly put on the salad…. It was almost off the dish (some dripping off the side.). The tastes were just ok, nothing special. I wish I would have picked a different protein.
The bathroom was sooo pungent with an air freshener that automatically goes off. I wasn’t a fan, but that’s better than smelling awful I guess.
I’m not impressed. Service was sub-par and food was lacking. I really wished we had a...

What I ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala (came with rice), 1 garlic naan, 1samosa.
The long review: It’s an Indian restaurant offering mostly the classic and well-known dishes one can expect. So nothing exceptional as far as options but that’s okay. The place is new and very clean, and the staff seem pretty friendly. I got a chicken tikka masala with a side order of garlic naan and a samosa dumpling. The naan and samosa didn’t disappoint. I’ve had better samosas but this one was still good. The chicken tikka masala was also a tasty dish, although the rice was a touch stale and the chicken cuts a bit dry, possibly from overcooking a bit. Overall, my order was edible and well-spiced and so I enjoyed it enough that I’d give it another shot and recommend trying it if you’re in the area. I’m also happy to see downtown hershey have another cuisine addition that isn’t subs/sandwiches or American-style restaurants; the variety is nice! For its price range and style of food, I’d say it met most of my expectations and is a good 4.5/5. Would...
Read moreA Flavorful Twist on Indian Classics – Tikka Shack Delivers!
Tikka Shack brings a bold, creative spin to Indian cuisine that’s made for everyone to enjoy. The flavors are vibrant, the spices beautifully balanced, and best of all—the food is delightfully non-greasy. It leans a bit on the spicier side, but the taste more than makes up for it.
Since I can’t handle too much spice (mirchi!), I went with the Malai Kofta curry, served in a comforting rice bowl. While the curry had a kick that was just a tad too much for me, the koftas were a revelation—soft, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
Our group ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone raved about them. I personally loved the samosas and paneer veg cutlets—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive.
A special shoutout to their chutneys—they were refreshingly different from the usual mint-coriander duo, not overly spicy, and added a burst of flavor to everything on the plate.
All in all, it was a fantastic dinner experience. Tikka Shack’s modern twist on Indian food is a hit, and we’re already looking forward to coming...
