Aside from hibachi, they really didn't have much for vegetarians. The mushrooms and carrots didn't have tongs in them so I used one from a different vegetable. The server handed me tongs from the shrimp and crab meat. I declined so he began using said fish tongs to select which vegetables he wanted to and throw them in my dish. Zero concept of food allergies or preferences of a vegetarian. They were cooking a huge pile of chicken at the hibachi grill so I suppose that would be hot but it was gross as they finished that and moved my vegetarian food over to that spot where the chicken had been. They used way too much oil so the vegetables were swimming in it. They weren't busy at all so the food was not hot. There are not any senior discounts. They look huge from the outside but that is not due to the buffet size which is rather small in comparison to other buffets in the area. The lunch special there cost more than a nearby dinner buffet cost me for the same number of people elsewhere in Destin. They automatically charge gratuity and for those that don't read their bill they still have suggested gratuity options on the bottom with a line to add gratuity so I find this to be somewhat deceptive. We were not informed at any other time that this would or had occurred. They keep staring at you and have a group of 3-4 staff just standing nearby so you feel judged and like you're being rushed out of there. My little guy got the last strawberry shortcake Ice cream bar. His siblings and an adult in our party wanted one but they claimed to not have anymore. This seems like poor management or perhaps they just wanted to use up the other non-desirable water ice flavors in there. Also beware that when you walk in you're walking into a mini gift shop first so it is a tourist trap to buy more stuff. I will not be returning. Lastly, I had to plunge the toilet as it was clogged and was the least gross. The restroom stall doors and walls are exceptionally higher off the ground than I have ever seen in my life. I felt exposed if anyone of the other two families there or staff would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst all of all, this is our first time visiting Destin, from GA. I give this a negative 5 stars!!! We had a horrific experience. As soon as we walked in we weren't properly greeted. The place looked old and outdated. Decor was generations behind time. As soon as we sat down chair was uncomfortable and sat lower than the table. Food looked old and reheated. And they were hours away from closing. Sushi is my favorite food and I couldn't even eat any of it. Looks like sushi was brought out earlier that morning and sat out to dry and look old. Food looked so disgusting that my husband didn't even eat nothing from the buffet, he gave the hibachi a chance. The hibachi is hid away in a corner, you'll miss it if not paying attention. They went through different cooks to cook his food. First the lady waitress started his food. Then the old man came and took over said something in another language before sending lady back to waitressing. Then yelled for young inexperienced boy to come cook his food. He was lost didn't have a clue what he was doing. My husband had to coach him how to cook his food. Certain items were not on the buffet and windows were needing to be cleaned. They never asked how food was and if we needed any refills. Food was over $40 which was not worth it and they never brought our receipt to the table, we had to walk the front ourselves and ask for receipt. We will never eat here again or recommend anyone to ever visit this establishment. This place is unsanitary and should be closed down for health regulations and safety. This place is nasty, unsafe and unprofessional, which needs to be torn down &&& I don't know how they're still open!!! Please be AWARE &&&& Run...Run...Run...far...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you have read any of my reviews, you know Chinese buffets are my jam. This one is by far, the worst one I've ever patronized. I gave 2 stars because the food was stocked up on a Saturay night right as diner started, with a very light crowd. We tried to go to McGuires, but it was packed. In fact everyone was packed except this place and I know why. The food was mushy and overcooked, all of it. Noodles, rice, shrimp, broccoli, donuts...oh the humanity. If I was 80, and had no teeth, I would be golden. Maybe that's the crowd they were expecting. And the soda and tea was as tepid as the food, but it was OK, they didn't offer to refill anything anyway. I can't speak to the hibachi dishes, because I didn't try any. The warm mushy sushi ruined what was left of my appetite. I don't like to leave bad reviews as I am a restaurant owner, and take them personality, but this place deserves mine. I also take personally another restaurateur giving our business a bad name, and boy did they. They didn't care enough to even bring my check, and had to track it down, nor did they even ask how everything was. I'm sure they knew and wanted to avoid the embarrassment. I was a tourist and desired a great experience, and left without one. There is a cafe in the same parking lot that we went to the next day that was incredible, and at least that came out of this visit. I'll review that...
