I've eaten at this and other Bucharest Grill locations a dozen+ times, including when very busy. After ordering a sandwich and drink at the counter at 6:24pm on a Friday, I ask if there's table service, she says the food is brought out, hands me a number. I pour my drink, set it and the number on a table, wash up for maybe 60sec, sit til 6:45 watching perhaps 50 more people enter, order, sit, be served, eat, and some even be brought to-go boxes. Every table but mine was visited multiple times. All this waiting while several different servers walked past in both directions, making every effort to ignore me and the flaming red tag sitting on the corner of my table indicating that I was STILL WAITING FOR FOOD. I lost patience, brought the tag to the counter, took a solid 5 minutes for the Mgr to pull up my receipt, (none was given,) count out a short-the-change refund, and fish the $2 tip I left in the presence of the woman who didn't bother putting my order in put of the jar. Thanks for worse than nothing. I'm gleefully flaming you from the table of a good Mediterranean restaurant where they can handle the dynamic of exchanging money for food. An hour and 30min after ordering a meal, I'm finally eating something. Consider hiring people who give a shit about other human beings, in addition to being pretty. On the off chance that you care that someone can sit in your dining room and be ignored for 30min with a number on their table, the woman in the hideous gigantic red frame glasses took my order, answered my questions, then tended bar... 20ft from where I sat for 25min, looking in my direction as she faced patrons. This sort of intense apathy is a weapon in the hands of somebody in a service trade. I haven't been so angry at a collective staff of idiots in a while. Ahh, finished my...
Read moreI never leave bad reviews but tonight what I saw was truly awful. First I saw a girl with braids in the food packing line opening boxes of food and eating fries from the orders before putting them in bags and eating it right in front of customers. Not only is that just disgusting but it’s truly wrong and unsanitary!! Then I witness another girl at the cashier cursing at multiple guest and arguing with them. This girl with glasses even yelled and called one lady a B** word to her face! She also got into an argument with other guest after they told her she was being rude. She was even arguing with her fellow employees that were preparing the food.
It’s sad this environment seems really toxic and management really needs to make some changes. Some of the staff seem really nice, but the 2 mean girls that were eating people food and cursing seem to make everyone uncomfortable.
No paying customer deserves to be cursed at and mistreated simply for no reason. She simply asked where her order was because they kept calling her number but the bag was not there. I was also confused. They sent her to the bar and the bar sent her back the cashier. She went back and for about 3 times. I heard them call her number “130” also. I’ve never seen employees behave like this before.
To add insult to injury when I got home I realized they messed up my order 😔. They put cheese on it even though the receipt said no feta. They were already closed by the time I got home, so no...
Read moreSuch a shame that our favorite place to meet ( Bucharest on Columbia street near MGM casino) our family and friends before Wings games and other sports has turned into undesirable food and customer service. We picked up an order of Shawarmas last night to eat in the car and they were dried out, cold, very little if any garlic sauce and skimpy. We went by a short time later to have them remade but they close at 10:00pm. So out of luck. I called today to l them know of our experience and the manager Nate said there was nothing he could do unless I take the food into him, I said I didn’t want to drive down to Detroit as I had no other reason to be in Detroit today he then said he couldn’t do anything for us. * it was very slow in Bucharest whereas it use to be packed in there so my guess is most people are realizing the food quality and customer service is bad. My guess is this restaurant location will close like the other Detroit location has. * side note- we can more than afford our food and don’t need free food but I wanted to give them a chance to make it right and they failed. We have season ticket to the Wings games and always met our friends and family at Bucharest beforehand but now will look for another...
