Detroit Jollof — Restaurant in Detroit

Ordered on doordash because they had the 2 for 1 special on the chicken and jollof rice. I also ordered the parboiled beans and meat pies. It took so long to be ready doordash gave me credits for my time because it was severely delayed. When it finally got to me my order was incorrect and absolutely tasteless. It barely even smelled like anything. I was missing one of the jollof rice and chicken meals which was the whole point of getting the 2 for 1 (my boyfriend was going to eat the other one) The one I DID receive had one piece of the tiniest chicken I’ve ever eaten with zero flavor and mostly just rice and plantains. I reported the order on DoorDash and got my money back. MORE than disappointing and I can only hope they were just having a bad day or something because WOW. Something was jollOFF...

I had such an amazing experience at Detroit Jollof! This new African restaurant in Detroit is definitely a gem. The Jollof rice was flavorful, the plantains were perfectly fried, and the grilled chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, just like home-cooked Nigerian food.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and the vibe of the restaurant makes it a great spot for takeout. If you’re looking for authentic West African food in Detroit—especially Nigerian Jollof rice, suya, and fried plantains—this is the place to go.
