Eat at Berts Music Cafe — Restaurant in Detroit

I saw a bad review from a month ago that had me worried, but it was the only 1 I saw, so we decided to give them a try. I'm really glad we did! The ambiance of this place is IMPECCABLE!!! Art on every wall from local artists (I asked), plenty of motown memorabilia, live music (which i was surprised to see Brian Dishell from sid gold's!!!!), there was no cover charge. It was a busy night, so we completely understand things taking a minute, especially when our server was very prompt and kept us updated on what was going on. Last but not least... the food! Oh. my.. god... the food! The chicken tenders were extremely juicy, and bursting with herbal flavor. The chicken parm eggrolls were unique, and I honestly enjoyed them more than the countless other eggrolls I've tried. The steak bites were a really nice size, they aren't really steak bites, they are miniature steak portions. For dinner I had the blue sandwich, and the bourbon mayo is on point!!! The worst dining experience ever. 1st, there is 4 different leaks from the roof. When informing the ower or manager about the leaks, her reply with an attitude was,"Well we're a black owned business, at least we don't have roaches ".The wait staff either got most of the orders wrong, and the orders that wasn't wrong was simply not turned in. After waiting over an hour for the food, the wait staff was asked about it, they were extremely rude with their responses. People had to ask at least 3 different times for their bills. Then wait another 30 minutes to pay. This place also charges an extra fee if you pay with a card. The owner or manager and the wait staff acting as if they were doing us a favor by giving us extremely poor customer service. The chicken was dry, eggs were cold, and the bacon was was hard and slightly burned. I wouldn't recommend feeding this...

Wasn't a fan at all. Probably the worst place I've been to. Food was garbage and way over priced, our food took forever, it took so long to come, that our server told 1 person in our group of 3 that his meal would be comped because it took so long, which ended up being a lie, we paid full price for everytbing. I ordered a turkey club, bacon was undercooked and fatty, the turkey tasted like fried bologna, fries looked as if they had seasoning, but yet had no flavor, they were very bland, the worst part was it took over an hour to get our food. We get the bill, no meals were comped as promised, then they added their own gratuity for a group of 3 ppl. That's the first time, and absolutely the last time I will visit a Berts establishment. Save your time and money and check out JoJos Shake bar instead, food is much better there, and the service...
