La Cina — Restaurant in Detroit

I have eaten here a couple of times but on 8/18/17 I was very dissapointed. My husband and I ordered a Mexican pizza and I bite into the pizza. And it had beans in it . I don't care for beans, when I read there menu it never mentioned that it had beans in or on it. So I asked the waitress if it had beans in it and she said yes. And I went on to explain to her I didn't know that it was going to have beans in it and that the menu didn't say that beans was included. My husband eats beans and he really enjoyed it but I was very unhappy. So I asked if I could just have tacos and Allen the waiter says no problem. I over heard the bartender say that I wanted shrimp tacos and that is not what I wanted. So I told the bartender that I just wanted beef tacos and he said no problem. So when they bring out my order they brought out a dinner with tacos,rice and beans. I never said I wanted a dinner and no one ever asked if I wanted a dinner. And if I did want a dinner I wouldn't have ordered beans. So now by this time I am getting aggravated they charged my husband for a dinner. They did take half off of the pizza but the owner had the nerve to come out the back and harshly yell at me. And so forth I didn't appreciate how he spoke to me. And I appreciate him taking half off the pizza but to be rude and charge me for something I didn't order was very unprofessional. And I will not ever do business with...

Nice atmosphere & server…That’s where it ended. They “were out” of the spicy salsa, we were told their $25 fajitas were plenty for 2 to split when there was not even a half plate of them to split. The other half of the plate was rice & beans. The accompaniments (cheese, tomatoes, lettuce) were on an even smaller plate. The fajitas were dry and had little flavor. We ordered fried ice cream for dessert which wasn’t fried ice cream but was corn flakes pressed on the ice cream with our choice of syrup on top. That was unbelievably disappointing. Note-I was at another restaurant days later & ordered the fajitas there. Those were huge, juicy, flavorful & would have actually been more than enough for 2 people to split and cost $7 less than what we paid for. Very disappointing experience and I...

Odd experience on Cinco de Mayo. There were open tables, including a chess board table in the middle. We were told it would be 30 minutes wait for 2 people. I at first put our name on the list with the anxious manager. Then, we reconsidered, walked inside to the bar to order a takeout. We were told we couldn't do any takeout and in fact couldn't be in the restaurant (even though there were empty tables.) Another woman came in after us and seeing empty tables, sat down. Guess she missed the host stand. Manager then berated her and banned her for life.
