This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to across any country and certainly in the United States. There aren't enough words to describe the complete in difference from the employees, the lack of any customer service at all, the simply poor result of the actual food being produced,
On my most recent, and LAST visit, I tried to order a smooth and a french fry. It took 10 minutes to get through the drive thru to the window. You could see from the payment window that there was a TON of people in the back of the restaurant (employees) yucking it up, laughing, having fun, etc. The person taking my money didn't look at me or say a word.
Once I pulled up the next window to get my order, no one was there, in fact there was no one working the front of the house that I could see (mind you the drive thru line was long). Finally someone comes and says "Pull up to window 3 and we'll bring you the smoothie". Okay, I get it, sometimes there's a delay.
I wait 10 MINUTES. Not exaggerating, no bull, 10 minutes and no one comes. I CALL the restaurant at this point as the lobby is closed for an employee Christmas Party so you couldn't get in nor would anyone open the door when knocked. So someone picks up and says okay, we'll be out.
Another 6 minutes goes by only to have someone come out and say "We don't have anything to make smoothies." ARE YOU SERIOUS!? No apology. No acknowledgement of all the time I'd spent. I asked for my money back.
ANOTHER 5 minutes and a different team member comes out and says "What do you want?" - Excuse me?! I want my money back, I told the other person that. She says "I don't even know why we're open. We have a mandatory meeting and only have 4 people working. We don't have food to make things and no one to make it. Its a mandatory meeting."
That was a COMPLETE LIE. There's huge signs on the door saying Employee Christmas Party and I can see tons of people inside (mind you, they all have their food and are having a great time).
Not one person apologized. Not one person did any single thing to make me feel valued. This McDonald's is the WORST in America. Look at the reviews. McDonald's corporate needs to get involved here. The employees are rude. Your order constantly is messed up. The actual quality of the food on other visits is SO BAD.
The apathy is striking. Please avoid this place at all costs. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Wendy's is literally right down Mack within a 1/3rd of a mile. ...
Read moreI don’t write reviews, but my continuously lously experience at this particular McDonald’s has compelled me to write a little something.
My biggest question is where is the quality control? The largest fast food chain on the planet and this seems to be the black sheep of the franchises. To be fair, this location was once the best McDonalds location to go to. It sits right on the edge of Grosse Pointe which was reflected in the service it once offered. Now this location behaves like the horrible locations you find in the slums.
I can’t pretend to not know why because the reason is obvious; they’re completely short staffed. Go there after 9pm and there’s a strong chance you WILL wait 30 minutes just to place your order at the drive-thru. Once you get to the order screen, you’ll either have to ask if there is anyone there or wait another few minutes for someone to respond. To make this worse, another customer will pull up to the other order lane, activate the sensor and the McDonalds employee will then greet them and take their order.
After that is all said and done, you’ll arrive to pay and they’ll have the wrong total or even ask you to place the order again.
Try to go to the lobby after 9 and you might find the door closed despite their hours clearly stated on the window. This varies, so it seems like they make their own lobby hours. Again, this seems to be because they’re trying to fix order traffic.
I’ve noticed that some of the employees seem to have actual disabilities. I know Walmart hires fairly, but Walmart has our misforunate ones in easy work roles like door greeters or shopping cart duties. I know working at McDonalds isn’t nano science, but it is fast food service. I think the manager at this location is taking advantage and having these people working the hours nobody else will and having them do too much. They should be on during the afternoon shift, not in the evenings and weekends when things are busy.
Didn’t McDonalds once have that golden service rule which entitled you to free fries if you had to wait more than a certain time?...Yeah, I think that’s...
Read moreThis was absolutely the worst experience. When my daughter got out if the hospital, all she wanted was hot fries from McDonald's. The service was so slow, I waited at the counter 40 minutes. I saw hot fries dumped in with at least a half hour old cold fries. They messed up my order. No one bothered to get my order until the third time I asked. When I complained about the fries being cold and not having any salt, the manager went over and dumped a bunch of salt on the old, cold fries, and lied to me, telling me that they were fresh. I asked for a refund but they didn't give me a receipt, so they gave me a hard time. There were several employees in the back just wandering around, not doing anything while the place got more backed up. Several customers were complaining that their orders were wrong or cold. Buzzers were going off and the staff was ignoring them, overcooking some things and leaving other things out to be cold. There was only one young lady doing all of the work, and the manager lady tried to blame her for everything that went wrong instead of taking responsibility herself. They ran out of parfaits, but charged for them anyway. The manager blamed the young lady, who had clearly not been informed that they ran out. It was not very clean. This place should be shut down. It was horrifying. If there were a negative number of stars, I would give it a negative rating. I ended up taking the cold fries out to my daughter, who was crying in pain after waiting so long. She was so disappointed that we went to 9 Mile and Mack McDonald's and got hot fries there - on...
