Nestled in the heart of the city, Basilicos presents itself as a cozy haven for pizza lovers, attracting both locals and tourists with its gourmet offerings. I recently had the pleasure of trying two plain slices at this delightful Italian eatery, and I must say, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. The first thing that struck me was the inviting ambiance of Basilicos. With its rustic decor and warm lighting, the restaurant creates a welcoming atmosphere that feels both casual and refined. It's an ideal spot for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends and family. Now, onto the main event—the pizza. I opted for two plain slices, and they did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly baked, offering a delightful balance of crispiness on the outside and a chewy texture on the inside. However, it was the sauce and cheese that truly stole the show. The marinara was rich and flavorful, with a slightly sweet undertone that complemented the tartness of the tomatoes beautifully. The cheese was incredibly luscious, melting perfectly and providing a creamy backdrop to the vibrant sauce. Each bite was a harmonious blend of taste and texture, showcasing the high-quality ingredients Basilicos is known for. While the taste was exceptional, the price of $7.95 for just two plain slices felt a bit on the higher side. However, considering the gourmet touch and the impeccable quality of the ingredients used, I found the price to be justifiable. It’s clear that Basilicos prioritizes artistry in their pizza-making, and sometimes that comes with a premium. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Basilicos to anyone in search of gourmet pizza. The combination of top-notch ingredients and the cozy atmosphere makes it worth a visit, even if the price point is a bit elevated. For those who appreciate the finer things in pizza, Basilicos is undoubtedly a place to satisfy your cravings. I look forward to going back and exploring more of their menu!

I've been eating at Basilico's for 30 years. Started when he had his restaurant in Freeport, Long Island. He is a true NY pizza restaurant. If you're looking for Old Forge pizza forget it. He is the authentic real deal. Peter, the owner, has brought the authenticity of NY pizza to PA. This place is a must for any pizza aficionado. UPDATE -- returned to the"new" Basilico's 3/2/19. Sicilian pizza was only slightly thicker than a regular slice, had no taste, and had to wait at my table 30 minutes for it. Decor is way too brown dark all around with no character or personality. We also paid over $2.50 each for a medium soda that should have been a large size. Waiting for 30 minutes for the food caused half my soda to be gone, and while other places provide free refills, they charge you $1 for each refill. So at the end of it all one Sicilian pie and 2 diet Cokes cost me $24. The only thing I got for making me wait so long was bad attitude from the older guy making pizza. Pete, sorry to tell you this after knowing you for 30 years, and you know my entire family, and it saddens me to tell you this, but your pizza and this new spot are on the decline. Hope you rebound to your old standards. I had originally given you 5 stars. Oh and by the way your workers shouldn't have to give customers an attitude when they ask for a to go box.

Have been going here for years, best food like NYC. However, recently they are opening up a new place and the owner Pete has been busy over there entrusting the place to employees and family....major change since summertime no warm greeting, quality of food poor and especially service if you dine in thats a nighrmare!!! Two days ago I drove all the way from NJ since I work there to get a slice on my way home ..I ordered at counter paid then left as i had my nephews in the car..never did i have to check what goes in my box to go.....I opened box to find half a slice sold to me and a grandmother slice ice cold. Could not go back as i had my 4yr old nephews in the car..the slices were for them...I called asked for his son as I wanted to let Pete know and he got on the phone listened to my complain and I asked when he will be there to talk to him. Could get an answer all he said was my dad is busy w the other place. A half hour later I get a call from his son telling me the guy I spoke w was just an employee and he wanted to know what my issue was. I told him and he proceeded to tell me the same his dad was so busy w other place. I wanted to contact him, but maybe it's best that he is not available, maybe neglecting this place and having the wrong people run it in his absence says it all. At the end of the day I am the customer and based on how I have been treated and what is,taking place I have no interest to go there again. We recommended the place to so many and rest assured we will let them know. And I cant believe the reviews my husband gave them always...no more!! Sad so sad is all I have to say!!!!!Especially that old time customers are treated as such, no warm welcome, no respect and major lack of being hospitable to your customers!!!!Appauling that they have to lie and play games while the father owner is not there...guess the mice will play when the cats away fits this so well...unreal!!!only difference is its not going to be at...

I was visiting for Easter this past weekend and took a chance and stopped at this new pizza place I had never been at before. It was close to the Sam's Club so my mother and I decided to try it. The son and owner were working at the front counter and the son was the first to greet us. We ordered two pizza's one plain cheese round pizza and one that was Supposed to be half mushroom and half pepperoni round pizza. While we waited for over 40 min we watched the owner who was mean and rude to not only us but extremely awful to the workers. I also watched him wipe the underneath of his nose then proceed to pick up a slice to give to a customer. NO GLOVES WERE WORN BY ANYONE. After a 40 min horrible wait we took the pizza home and it was the worst pizza I have ever had. We paid $35.00 for two pizza's with barely and cheese on them. They were not cooked all the way. The mushrooms and half pepperoni pizza we ordered was all thrown together on the pizza and it was gross. The mushrooms were soggy and from a can. Please do yourself a favor and never go to this place. The owner is awful and the pizza is even worse. They should be fined for health saftey issues for handling food with no gloves. I am very sad we wasted our money here. I am forced to give this a star when it should get no star's at...
