Man, there's so much to like about this place. It's a shame the downsides are so big. I went on a Friday night just because I wanted a couple craft beers. It was absolutely jammed to the walls with people. I grabbed a seat at one of the two available tables because the bar was full, before realizing that I looked silly because there were no waiters or waitresses. None. There's nobody to take your order except at the single cash register. You have to get up and wait in line for ten minutes to order anything or close out your tab. I got in line, eventually ordered a beer, and grabbed the one now available spot at the bar. When I went to order a second beer, all I could do was hope and pray nobody took my seat whole I stood in line. Even getting back to my seat was a pain because of all of the people in there. The beer was great. The food that other people were ordering looked good. The atmosphere was okay, if you're into the tourist-trap "old-timey western but modern" kind of thing. I'd just recommend not going during peak hours unless you really like getting up close and personal with strangers and standing in line is the bright spot of your day. The prickly pear sour with jalapeno is very good but considerably spicy. I advise taking the half serving of jalapeno in it when offered. It's plenty.

I suppose it can be dangerous stopping at a brewery only 90 minutes into a six-hour drive home, because…you know…it could turn into nine hours if you’re not real careful. But since I had been to Dodge City Brewing Company before and knew how good it was, there was no hesitation to make the turn onto 3rd Avenue. Done. Settled. Home can wait. I dove right in an ordered a pint of their 3rd Street IPA, a delightfully refreshing and approachable IPA (6.6% ABV; 73 IBU). You’ll have to ask them why the brew has “Street” in the name, while their address is “Avenue” It probably doesn’t matter, though. And for lunch, I spied a cauliflower crust option on the pizza menu. I was prepared to go sans cheese, but just on a chance, I asked, “Do you have any vegan cheese?” My server said they had just gotten some in, so I went with that, off-menu and all. The best part is that it was delicious. I resisted the temptation to down it all, because I knew I would be looking for a rest area to take a nap. I downed another IPA, ordered a 32-ounce crowler of it to go, grabbed a souvenir tacker, and headed back toward Texas. I’ll finish that pizza and beer in no time, a fond memory of my return to DCBC. Here’s to next time!

We like beer tasting (but in our minds, who doesn't?) As we travel across the USA, we come across breweries/brewpubs that intrigue us to come inside for a lunch or dinner and sample their creations. Yesterday, while in Dodge City, Kansas, we chose to try Dodge City Brewing. We ordered one Pete's Brown Ale (darks are our favorite) and a flight of six - 1872 Lager, 3rd Street IPA, Doctoberfest, Tenderfoot Summer Lime, Gone Too Soon, and Wyatt Earp Weiss - Blueberry. A meaty High 5 pizza accompanied our beverages. The brown ale was very tasty. Our favorites in the flight were the Doctoberfest and the Tenderfoot Summer Lime (preferred it mixed with the Gone Too Soon or The Wyatt Earp Weiss, as it was very sour, but delicious.) The pizza was perfect. We met the brew master, who was pleasant to chat with (he had a dark dark he was preparing for a later date - we wish we could have been around to try it.) Alba was a wonderful, helpful server - you added so much to our experience! So thank you, Dodge City Brewing, for providing us with delicious beer and food as well as great service in a pleasant atmosphere. And we did, of course, grab a 4-pack of Long Branch Porter to go (gotta love the darks!)

3 strikes, you're out! I really enjoyed eating at this place, but our last 3 visits have been nothing but disappointments. 1) At this moment I can't remember the exact amount of wait time because it was about 4/5 months ago, but we waited a ridiculous amount of time for our online order. Keep in mind, we ordered online, then headed there around the estimated time done and still continued to wait too long for our order. 2) Another time about a month ago, my family and I dined in, and yes, they were busy, so waiting was expected. Although, after about 30 min of still not getting our drinks, my husband went up to ask about them. The worker told him that they were short staffed and busy, so the wait time was longer than normal. He stayed up there by the bar waiting. Another 10/15 mins later I noticed other customers (who showed up after us) were getting their drinks and 2 other tables even got their food already. So, I went up to the front, alongside my husband and told the worker, "You said we'd have to wait & we've been waiting, how much longer are you wanting us to wait before you bring us our drinks and take our order?" He repeated that they were short staffed and busy but would get us our drinks and take our order right away. We didn't give up on this place just yet though, until now. 3) (7/9/25) At 9:12pm I called to place an order to go. The guy told me it'd be ready in about 20 min. We showed up at 9:34. My husband went to the eastside entrance 1st; the door was locked. He then went to the southside entrance which was also locked. He goes back to the eastside entrance pulls on the locked door, the lady worker near that entrance looked right at him both times, but she continued to do her nightly clean up. So, he knocks on the door, she opens it and quickly says, "We're closed" ( they don't close till 10:00pm) my husband replied, "So you don't want me to pick up and pay for my order?" She responded with annoyance "oh, you're the to go order?" He said "yes". She then made the pointing motion at him to the other workers, which we interpreted as her saying; here's that last minute customer. Needless to say, her actions were the final straw. We will no longer be supporting this business. Which is unfortunate because we like to support local businesses and good foods...

The first thing to notice when coming to Dodge City Brewing is the very unique atmosphere. Open and spacious seating with a variety of sitting from tables to benches and bar stools. The next thing noticed is being welcomed with a warm smile and greeting from some of the friendliest staff I have experienced to date. The variety of food isn't what captured my attention when looking at the menu, which it's design being simple to read but very focused on showing the brand, consisted of a less than 10 variety of pizza and even more variety of beers. Though I didn't sample any of the beer I did have a tea which was beautiful presented with crystal clear ice and a spotless cup which when seen in the early afternoon sun creates a landscape of rays strewn out upon the table. The pizza we had today was the Peppy Funguy which simply put is a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. When presented it was evident that this place was no low quality or overdone showcase. Simple construction with beautiful style. The crust so thin one could almost miss seeing it under the toppings if not for the well risen edges. Light, fluffy, and still the perfect amount of crunch. The one thing that does pull away from this place being the perfect place for an every day hangout with friends and family does not lie in the quality of either food or atmosphere but with the quantity of the food. A regular pizza being measured at 12" would be perfect for two but beyond that makes it difficult to be filled though have a beer or two may help. The last thing to note is that the prices are reasonable with our order of 1 pizza 2 teas and 1 sprite with a 15% tip came out to just over $20. Thank you Dodge City Brewing for such a wonderful afternoon and such respectful and...

This place is AMAZING. 1, we can't believe we got such good pizza in the middle of Kansas. (I have been having the worst Pizza across the state & this place knows pizza. It was close to New York style.) We got a four-pack of lager to go. It was light & refreshing, I am not a beer girly but this places beer could make me one. (Total under $35, Winter 2023) 2.The server Doug, was beyond kind. He could tell we were from out of town, he told us about local sights & history. He was a very personable & funny, & on top of that he was an awesome server, our Waters were filled, our pizza came out piping hot & it just really made us enjoy our first experience at a brewery but more importantly our first experience at THAT brewery. Meaning, we will be back! 3. The atmosphere is kind of cold & industrial but somehow very inviting & trendy feeling. The brewery kettles & equipment & stuff is right there, the pizza ovens were neat to watch if you got the right seat, and there were no kids, as there shouldn't be because it's a brewery. All in all, we loved this place. If I had to give a complaint it would be that a lot of local people listen to their car radios loud for some reason & there's a stop sign/light right outside, so anybody who stops their & thinks that God & Country would enjoy their music too, the breweries customers are...
