Came here with my wife for some lunch. Cuento really is an awesome place. The first thing that struck me was the interior and really the atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s interested in being a restaurant, yes, but it seems even more interested in being a gathering place. There are books you can take right off the shelves, and dominos to play with. You don’t feel rushed in here, you feel invited to stay.
The decor is really unique, with photos of legendary figures and places juxtaposed with the accent wall made to look like dominos. It feels like a place that loves where we’ve been and looks forward to where we are going.
As for the food, all the sandwiches are themed after figures or places of Spanish/Latin legend or myth. I ordered the “El Cid”, which is their take on a pan con bistec. Off the bat, this steak sandwich is superior to every other I’ve ever had based on its tenderness alone. So many steak sandwiches in Miami have this rubbery chewy texture, where you end up pulling the whole steak out from under the bread. Not with El Cid. The meat gives way easily, and the flavor is explosive. The sandwich is also huge and I’m a big guy and even I struggled to finish it. I washed it down with a Jarrito that I got from the pick up fridge. In there were other beverages like bottled water, as well as some house squeezed fresh juices.
My wife had the special, which was a chorizo and meatball sub. The meatballs were good and sizeable, not dry at all and served on some nice crusty bread. A very classic take on an old favorite. She also ordered their green smoothie which she described as “perfect”. I’m not much for greens so I’ll take her word for it.
As for service, it is a quick service location so there’s not much to be said in that department outside the cashier being amicable and being quite speedy with the preparation of my wife’s smoothie and my Cuban style espresso when I asked for some after lunch. I will say the chefs came out and made sure everything was to our liking. The space is clean and neat and the bathroom was well stocked and tidy.
I fully recommend Cuento. There are lots of great places to get lunch in Doral, but none of them are quite this unique, or frankly, quite this good. I’ll definitely be coming back to try out the rest...

Our culinary exploration with Cuento began with a delightful delivery order, transforming our hangover woes into a memorable feast. Despite not dining in the restaurant itself, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary as we indulged in an array of gourmet delights from the comfort of our own home.
To kick off our hangover remedy, we savored all three varieties of Croquettes, each serving as a delicious pick-me-up. The Midnight Ham, with its savory allure, quickly became our favorite, while the Pimento Cheese and Chicken And Turkey croquettes offered their own unique comforts.
Moving on to the main attraction, our selection of sandwiches did not disappoint. The Medio Pollito, boasting a spicy kick and jalapeño poppers, provided the perfect remedy for our lingering hangover. The Doña Elena, with its innovative twist and heavenly guava dipping sauce, offered a refreshing burst of flavor. However, it was the Don Quixote that truly stole the show, with its homage to the media noche and unforgettable homemade mustard.
Accompanying our sandwiches were the Truffle Waffle Fries, a crispy indulgence that perfectly complemented our meal. The thin, crispy Cuban roots paired flawlessly with the light dipping sauce, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to our hangover cure.
To cap off our culinary adventure, we indulged in the irresistible Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip cookies, providing the sweet conclusion to our delightful meal.
In conclusion, Cuento offers a culinary journey like no other, whether dining in or enjoying their offerings via delivery services like Uber Eats. From gourmet sandwiches to delectable sides and desserts, every aspect of our experience exceeded expectations, making it the ultimate hangover remedy. We eagerly anticipate our next rendezvous with the captivating flavors of Cuento, be it in the restaurant or in the comfort of...
Read moreA friend of mine recommended that I come to CUENTO Sandwiches in Doral, FL to try their Amazing Pan con Bistec ( EL CID ) sandwich. She knew that I love to try new places so my friend and I gave it a shot and we ended up coming out here to have our first meal at this cute establishment. As I was going over the menu, I decided to go with the EL CID A CABALLO sandwich because I was in the mood to have eggs also. My friend, well she decided to go with the Original EL CID sandwich. Let me tell you, we were BLOWN AWAY with how good they were!! These were by far the best Pan con Bistec sandwiches we have had in a very long time! The little malanga sticks and the special sauce that was in the sandwich made these sandwiches stand out! They gave them a unique and creative taste that added to the original take on the Cuban pan con bistec! And they were both served super hot. The sandwich tasted like all the ingredients were freshly prepared which is a plus anywhere you go. Nobody wants food that’s been sitting around or stale, am I right?! I highly recommend coming to this fabulous restaurant. Their staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the restaurant was nice and clean and best of all.. the food was great!! We can’t wait to come back and do it again! It is also wheelchair accessible. The parking was easy and free and I had no issues getting into the restaurant...
