I thought this place was absolutely lovely. I was a bit hesitant to go, even though I had been looking forward to, because of the few reviews here. The style of the place wasn't what I expected. I thought it was a sit down location where someone would come, bring you a menu, and wait on you. Instead you will have many menus available for you to check the items and go to a counter to order the items you would like. They will bring your food to you and move dirty plates out of the way. In terms of the food I thought it was very nice. I went with my dad and we got four items in total. My dad got the Americano coffee and the Alaskan Crepe. However the ambience and decorations of the whole store was so nice and peaceful. In terms of the food I thought it was very nice. I went with my dad and we got four items in total. My dad got the Americano coffee and the Alaskan Crepe. I got the Spiced Chai Latte and the Allison's Parfait Crepe. We first got the drinks, I didn't try thr Alericano but my dad mentioned how it tasted like microwaved coffee. In terms of the Spiced Chai Latte it was very good and the presentation was gorgeous. The foam on top was very thick and it smelled of cinnamon and nutmeg. The first few drinks of it was very delicious however for some reason after the drink started tasting of corn. Very faint. It was still enjoyable and when we asked the staff they of course mentioned not including any corn in it. I will need to go back to see if I continue to taste that flavor. I am also really interested in trying their Mayan hot chocolate. After a bit we received the food and it was absolutely beautiful. The presentation looked exactly as it was shown on the website and I was looking forward to eating it. The Allison Parfait Crepe had yogurt, strawberries and banana, along with some honey and granola. It was very delicious and exactly what they advertised. The Crepe was a bit on the cooler side however I think it complimented the flavors very well since I did get an item with more cold ingredients. The strawberries and bananas were very fresh and juicy. I was also able to try the Alaskan Crepe and it was obviously totally different than the one I got but my goodness I really enjoyed it. It had spring onions, pickled onions and some sort of cream cheese. The salmon was really good and the pieces of egg also complimented the flavor. I really liked the green onion and cream cheese flavor, it made the whole dish complete. I think I will defintely come back again to try other items on...
Read morePassable crepe experience with a questionably chaotic seating and organization structure that actively hinders the dining experience.
The sheer lack of competition in the local crepe market makes this place stand out as being one of the few locations where it can get a good crepe around. However, at this price point, you'd expect a place that has a more robust system in place for seating clients. Instead, this place functions like a more chaotic Panera Bread, having clients seat themselves after receiving a number for the waiter to bring your order to you. However, unlike Panera, this location prioritizes smaller parties by offering predominantly tiny tables most fitting for 2 people, 3 at most. There's nobody in charge of assisting with seating, leading to situations where you may have to stand around like a hawk to grab two smaller tables to combine, or give up and sit outside where the largest tables are located. Maybe in the winter, this would be more tolerable. But for summertime heat, it's not acceptable without great tolerance.
Although we arrived after the rush, we were warned that the food would take 50 minutes to make prior to ordering.
The lavender strawberry drink tastes absolutely horrible, but they were kind enough to give me a replacement drink upon request. Don't try it unless you enjoy something that tastes like a mixture of heavily concentrated store bought puree and heavy alcohol.
The absolute best part of the experience was how accommodating and understanding the staff was the entire time. Busboys assisted us in answering questions and making us feel more comfortable once we were seated. Care was given to our concerns beyond what seemed required by the setup of the location.
The food itself came staggered, with beautiful presentations but inconsistent plating. If this was a cheaper place, there would be no complaints, but it doesn't compete well with other restaurants at the same price point. Thankful the food is delicious, which ultimately is what matters the most. I recommend ordering a soup if you're starving during the wait, as it's flavourful...
Read moreThis morning got in at 8:00 am there were about 5 people in front when they opened starting taking the order ffrom those 5 people in line, then two more customers joined the line even though they arrived after us, and so it went for 8 more people joining the customers, jumping the line each time. No other till was opened and no one apologized for the delay to us. When we asked about the abuse allowed we were told that they had an open ticket if we wanted to pay for them and closed the ticket fine. We left after waiting for around 25 minutes without given any attention. Those customers with such arrogance just told us that they were from the barber shop.... Was our first visit, it surely be our last. Crossed the street to Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar for a better service and well worth the visit. ADDED AFTER YOUR REPLY: Thank you for your reply. Though at first there were only 4 people in front of us then others started to come walking pass us in the line and the cashier allowed them to bypass us and she just stood there waiting for more to come. They came in in dribbles and few minutes apart from each other sometimes even FIVE MINUTES apart from each other. They were allowed to jumped the line and we were sent back constantly the cashier just stood there waiting for them to arrive without even letting us know the cause of the delay. The "large party" were not all together, we just had to watch the cashier stand there doing nothing but wait for "more" to arrive to the store and then watch them pass in front of us. The "large party" were driving on their way to the store and your staff was quite willing to just make the rest of your customers wait in line whilst the "large party" kept arriving in dribbles few minutes apart from each other. The least expected was to be notified of the delay. When we complained, the cashier refused to make things right. Only one...
