Updated- I called the next morning and spoke with the manager Kelsey and she explained that depending on how big the oxtails pieces are determined how many you get. She said you would get 4 to 5 large pieces or more if they are small. I explained that the girl gave me 6 of the ends of the tails and only added a large piece after I asked how many she put on the plate. She apologized and offered to give me a large cup of oxtails for the issue. I accepted this offer. She was very nice and sympathetic to the situation and I appreciate that. I’ve updated my star review based on this interaction however I don’t still think I’ll be coming back after this. Their food is very good but the attitude and price just isn’t worth it to me anymore.

I’m absolutely done with this place. I go here somewhat often but yesterday just really irritated me! I always order 2 large oxtail plates and depending on who you get will determine your oxtail portions. Well yesterday I had someone literally put 6 of the smallest bones on my plates and usually I’ll just not say anything but I was like NOT TODAY. I said how many did you put on the plate and she said it’s 6 for a large. How?!! So you telling me it’s 3 for a regular?! I told her that wasn’t going to work and she added 1 additional. My total came out to 58 dollars and I hate not tipping so my total ended at 70. At the end of the day I’m not paying 58 dollars for a big plate of rice and ox tail gravy, I’m paying for the meat. This place is stingy and I’m definitely calling about this when they open because I’m definitely sick of it. At this point I’m thinking about disputing the charge because if you want to get over on customers then why not do the same to you!!!! Update: Visited today (1/7/18) on my way back to Alabama and oh what a difference 6 months has made. The workers were very pleasant and the oxtail with rice and peas was awesome. It was well seasoned and the gravy on the rice was was so delicious!!!! The carrot juice did not dissapoint at all. It was just as good as the first time I tasted it. It was real good carrot juice!!! My son also said that the patty tasted better also.They were out of fried dumplings, festival and callalloo but I guess that is a testament of how good the food is. I will definitely be back.

I am giving it 3 stars because I hate to give a Jamaican restaurant bad reviews. I drove from Alabama to visit this restaurant.The food is expensive and you don't get a lot. The portion is also not consistent. I bought a large oxtail and the person behind me also bought a large oxtail,but his oxtail portion was twice my amount. I also bought jerk chicken(it tasted like stew chicken. It was not bad. It just didn't taste like jerk chicken). I bought patty and coco bread for my son (he said that it was o.k,but he prefers C&D's on Austell road) The restaurant itself has a nice vibe to it. It also sells other jamaican nick nacks like gizzadas and rock bun.I like the fact that you can see the food before you buy it. The carrot juice was awesome!!! After a few years wanting to go to Golden Krust I am truly disappointed I was treated very poorly even though I spent $90 all the while I was saying please and thank you the young lady in the front her name tag had Sher on it was very rude to me after asking and waiting for a new pan of macaroni and cheese to come out she very carelessly and sloppily served me three containers with cheese dripping all down the side I’m talking about strings of cheese like 8 to 10 inches long rolling her eyes at me going back in the kitchen whispering to each and everyone as they looked out at me directly through the window she wanted to make sure I saw yeah! My finance and I saw you don’t worry about it each and every person you whispered to turn back and looked at me straight out the window to where I was sitting eating a meal with my fiancé and my three grandchildren! As I mention to my fiancé he saw you too but I can take my $90 elsewhere I don’t need the rudeness the disrespectfulness and everything else ! If I wasn’t so tired from working 90 hours a week with brain and spinal injured patients I would’ve asked to speak to the manager I was just trying to have a quiet Saturday with my fiancé and my grandchildren and enjoy a Sunday early dinner.
