Day 1: We purchased a small sliced red velvet cake just to taste before we go for a bigger cake order. HONESTLY, we loved it.
2 days later.
Day 2: we ordered a 8 inch round 3 layered red velvet cake with simple white cream cheese icing. AND paid around $70 for it. The design was simple white icing. The final cake didn't look anything like that and covered with red cake crumb all over it. I asked the cashier to save the design reference picture. He said they dont it as its a regular white cake. We asked the baker to change the top but she said it would damage the cake. It was fine with us and we picked up the cake 2 hours before the event. Nothing was an issue until it was time to eat the cake.
The cake was DRY like a desert. It tastes nothing like the one we had before. We got an 8 inch dry cake for $70 that nobody liked or could eat. Waste of money.
I would give a Zero star for the cake but their staffs were nice. But I didn't pay just for the service. I paid for good food too.
We didn't contact with the store that we aren't satisfied with the cake because we don't want FREE merchandise or money back as the owner states in her replies with other customers who leaves bad reviews. Not buying anything...
Read moreI found this place in Yelp in the middle of the week and studied their menu extensively. Typically I don’t eat sweets during the week, but planned a full cheat day for Saturday around their menu. The menu advertises beignets, cannolis, apple turnovers, and a variety of others; however, to my dismay, upon arrival they only had cookies and cakes. I read that the beignets were made to order, so I came prepared to wait, but the husband said that only his wife makes them and she wasn’t in. I inquired about how I could comeback or order some for pick up and he didn’t have a solution… he only recommended that I purchase a slice cake or cookie. Half of the shelves were empty, and they also didn’t have apple turnovers or cannolis, but as a generally fit and healthy person, I was not using my on cheat day on cookies.
My main frustration is due to the lack of customer care. Why have a menu of things that you either a) do not have or b) can not make on the spot? Not only did he not care, but he didn’t give me a solution to the fact that they did not have what the had on their menu. The shop is adorable, I brought my book to just read and eat and just vibe there. I was very willing to even comeback as I was off that day, but it was such a disappointment. I did buy one banana pudding and that...
Read moreJust stopped by to try this place out for the first time. In all its a cute spot and I have no complaints on service whatsoever but its not worth the money AT ALL. I got the sweet potato pound cake and the banana pudding, i hate to say both were sooo disappointing :( The cake did not seem anywhere near fresh and significantly lacked the sweet potato flavor profile expected, it was also very incredibly dry. Whatever the topping is was hard and made it to where all you could taste was the nuts. I regret not judging it off of appearances because it honestly looked exactly how it tasted. Now, it's hard to make a bad banana pudding and this one wasn't bad by any means but it wasn't necessarily good or flavorful. It was just a box pudding and bananas with a cookie in each corner. No cream ontop, not even as sweet as you'd expect it to be. I had high hopes when I found out about them, and even signed up for the loyalty program before I left, but I doubt...
