Disappointing Taste and Quality
I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a wedding cake from Sammie’s Sweetz and I feel compelled to share my thoughts to help other couples avoid the same disappointment.
Let’s start with the positives: the cake was on time. However, that’s where the compliments end.
Unfortunately, the flavor of the cake was a far cry from what we tasted during our initial consultation. During the tasting, we were blown away by the rich, delicious flavors that we had chosen, but when it came time to cut the cake, we were met with a bland and dry version that left us and our guests underwhelmed. It was incredibly disheartening to see our guests disappointed when we had hoped to treat them to something special.
To add to our frustration, the cake we received looked drastically different from the one we had chosen. While I understand that some variations can occur during the baking and decorating process, the differences were so pronounced that it felt like a completely different cake. The colors were off, the decorations were not as we had discussed, and it lacked the elegance we had envisioned.
Overall, I was left feeling let down on what was supposed to be one of the most memorable days of our lives. I had high hopes for Sammie’s Sweetz, but the combination of poor flavor and quality control made for a disappointing experience. I would recommend couples to think twice before choosing them for their special day. A wedding cake should not only look good but taste exceptional, and unfortunately, they missed the mark on both counts.

Read moreA Hidden Gem of Homemade Goodness! I found Sammie’s bakery on the internet. I was not sure what to expect. It was for my daughter and friend’s graduation party. I cannot say enough amazing things about this incredible bakery! From the very first bite, it was clear that every single item is made with love, passion, and true baking talent. It's rare to find a place where the quality rivals (and often surpasses) what you’d get from a commercial bakery — and yet, this one absolutely delivers. I ordered a custom cake and it was flawless. The cake was beautifully decorated, moist, and bursting with flavor — not to mention, it looked like it came straight out of a magazine. What sets this bakery apart is the attention to detail. Everything is made-to-order, so it’s incredibly fresh, and you can tell how much heart goes into every creation. Communication was smooth, the pickup process was easy, and the owner is so kind and clearly passionate about her craft. Everyone was once a beginner and that's how the cake taste. The cake lacked flavor and was on the dry side. I allowed the baker to freestyle after seeing a few pics of her cakes. The decorations was subpar to say the least. I only wanted a small tower cake. Definitely got a box cake, which the baker did confirm so I wasn't expecting it from scratch, confirm first just in case you're expecting a cake from scratch. Lucky I had another cake from a different baker. The cake was easy on the eye but no one ate the cake after the bday girl cut it and retch.
$100 bucks down the drain on a box cake with stencil and fake flower decorations. Sadly...
