I regret to say that this place is terrible. Cartellis was 100x better of a restaurant. Once it closed we decided to give this place a shot. Bad call - we will never be going back.
Margaritas are terrible. My girlfriend ordered one, sent it back (something she never does) and they gave her an equally bad margarita as a replacement.
Food presentation is awful. They just slapped a few chimichangas and burritos on a plate - they looked terrible. My fish tacos looked terrible as well.
Food was terrible. Fish was of very poor quality and they just had huge slabs of avocado on the tacos. That was basically it. No flavor at all to mask how bad the overcooked fish tasted. I did not finish my meal. My girlfriend did not finish her meal either. She had a combo plate and everything was bad.
Service was terrible. Our waitress was clueless and made many mistakes. She didn't know what a 'FinestKind' was (smuttynose IPA) when it was one of 6 beers they had on tap. Really? She came back twice to verify my order and took forever to get us our check.
The ONLY saving grace of this place was the service we received from what must have been the owner. He was very good and made us delicious fresh guacamole next to our table. Everything else was awful though. If he had done everything himself I am sure that we would have had a great experience. Unfortunately his staff makes bad food, is bad at waiting tables, and mixes bad margaritas.
Go to Margaritas a few miles away if you want good mexican food and margaritas. It is 20x better than this place... I can't help but think that this was the worst $50 I have spent in a very...
Read moreErin was an amazing server. She made sure we were taken care of and had a great attitude. I truly think she should work somewhere else as the service from the higher-ups did and will continue to affect her.
Food was average, but the daily specials are fantastic for the price. We even ordered food for the next day on our travels.
All was well until the bill came. The supervisor or manager had a nice demeanor, but terrible at customer service, which ruined our overall experience.
What was ordered was a Well/House Tequila and sprite for a super cheap drink…and it was rung up as “Blanco Casamigo’s” and the most expensive drink on our bill—$15.75.
Instead of fixing it, the manager proceeded to give us an answer that she thought would suffice, which was that all drinks with liquor and a soft drink…like a tequila and sprite—are doubles and are the same price no matter what tequila you order…
This was NOT explained nor what we ordered. The drink definitely was not strong like it had a double shot and if that was the case, we would have ordered the top shelf tequila. It was unfair and should have been corrected or at least communicated in general.
Wouldn’t go back, solely based on the leadership and the way we felt swindoodled by the...
Read morePersonally I thought it was pretty good. Chips were nice and warm and fresh to start. I got the Guacamole which was very good. Some places over do on the lime, these guys didn't. For the entrée I got two chimichangas, one beef and one chicken. The cheese to meat ratio was really good. I would recommend the chicken, beef was... well beef (I'm not a big fan of beef to begin with but I thought I'd try it). Prices were reasonable ($11.99 for the chimichanga plate.) Drinks were strong, got a strawberry daiquiri because I like girly drinks when I get Mexican and the rum was very noticeable. So obviously a good sign there.
Also as a note my girlfriend got two chicken enchiladas but they gave her cheese instead. Which was kind of a bummer so just keep in mind it's a new place so I'm sure there will be some mistakes.
To wrap up, giving 4 stars cause they screwed up the order (which I know happens) and we were pushed quite hard to get the table side guac even after saying no a few times. Nothing big but worth mentioning.
Edit: I should have changed this from 4 to 5 stars a long time ago. Been coming here since they opened and have been flawless ever since my first visit. The food is tremendous and the...
