Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Dover

We came here an hour before they closed, me and my wife. We were waiting for the cashier to come from the back to serve us. We weren't rude or anything, but she came out the back with this attitude. Ice cream was good, but the attitude could have been left in the freezer.

Update 7/28/2022 Came here to take the family for a treat on a hot day. We were next in line, there were 3 cashier's going. We made our choices (4 of us) on what we wanted. Our cashier didn't wait to hear all of our orders, she heard ice cream bowl, went and made the bowl, heard the next thing and went and made it. During this time we are looking at our treats melting behind the screen. I got a concrete, half the ice cream is soup and there's ice cream all on the outside of the lid dripping down but the cup wasn't even close to being full. I ordered 4 things but ended up paying for 5 things because she didn't get the full order at once and no one knows how to do a refund. At least write it down if you get 3 or more orders. My whole family LOVES Rita’s!!! My daughter and I were so happy to see one open so we went this evening and arrived at 7:45pm, they close at 8:00pm so we thought we were good. We went they the little car line and waited for a min and saw the people inside of the windows, another car was there and they went to the window and the girl opened it real quick said “we’re closed” and slammed the window shut! So I went up there (another car pulled in behind me) she opened the window with a huge attitude and said “we’re closed” I said can you tell me the hours your open so I will know when to come? She said 12-8 so I said it’s only 7:50 so we still have 10 min and she said her manager gave her permission to close early cause no one was there 10 min ago and I said but there are 3 and another car pulled in so 4 cars here now and we still have 10 min. She yelled that they were closed and slammed the window again. She was rude and refused to serve me and the 3 other cars there because she wanted to leave 15 min early! Rita’s is our favorite so we will try again tomorrow but I hope the same girl is...

The children working there need better supervision. I went there this past Wednesday. The young lady with the braces and red hair, spent two minutes laughing in my face. Continued having a conversation with the boy back there, then acknowledged me. I gave her a look and she said "sorry." I asked her three times for tops for my frozen ice. Once she gave me my order, I asked again for the tops and a cup holder. She took the ice and scooped the top of the flavored ice, off each cup, and put it back into the mix (in the freezer they serve from). Then put the tops on the counter. If my child didn't want to try the new flavors, I would've asked for a refund. We opened the wild blackberry today and made it half way though the cup before we found HAIR!
