Great ice cream and good prices, but the past few times I have been in the shop has been understaffed and filthy. Also, the cups are way too small for the serving size (ice cream melts and runs down the sides) and the plastic spoons are flimsy and break when trying to eat the ice cream. I left last night as a sticky mess, just like every table in the shop. The bathroom was disgraceful, as well.
*Response to owner reply below: No, the cups are TINY with normal-sized scoops. It looks like there is a lot defensive customer blaming going on in your responses. A simple, "We apologize, give us another chance," would probably go a lot further than rationalization and, in one case, accusing a customer of lying in a review below. That's lame.
We won't be back, which is a shame because you sell a great product. I guess I will have to go to New Haven for my...
Read moreI arrived this summer saturday night and there was a line out the door. such is expected for an ice cream place to be busy on a saturday night in the middle of July, but as I stood the line was moving extremly slow. So slow that multiple groups of people got to the back of the line and figured it wasn't worth it and left. I entered and noticed there were only three people staffed, who were frantically running around barely keeping up with the crowd. I asked if someone had taken off, hence why there might be a short staff but they said no, only three were scheduled. It was aggravating being a former manager at a retail chain, knowing if my store was naturally short staffed like they were, I'd have been fired on the spot. The ice cream was great as expected, but for the best expiraince next time I will visit when they are...
Read moreI was with my husband and mother-in-law out for ice cream. We were sitting inside and finishing our ice cream when one of the girls behind the corner told us they were closing in a few minutes. My mother-in-law replied that she was just finishing her frozen banana. The girl rolled her eyes and responded “Well im just letting you know”. When we walked out, I saw my mother-in-law turn around to throw something away. When she turned around, the young girl that had told us that they were closing stuck her middle finger up at her. She then mouthed a profanity and giggled to the other girl working. I then saw her continue to mouth profanities and look out at us walking away. I understand that this form of business typically has to hire high school aged individuals but staff should be reminded that this behavior is very...
