K&G Fashion Superstore — Local services in Downers Grove

The store is as hot as fish grease, at an Alabama church fish-fry! It appeared that the AC has broken down. They had several back-up mobile units on full blast, but that did nothing to make the store more comfortable, especially for trying on clothes. The associates were standoffish and not very helpful at best, maybe it was the heat. I asked for an item and one, in plaid pajama pants, motioned in the general direction of the item. He did not acomany me, nor did he ask any follow up questions. Finally the icing on the cake of this disastrous service was me having to wait a whole 28 minutes to check out. I asked the same 'aloof' associate Mr. Plaid Pants, if he could please open up another lane to check me out, with my one item. He flatly said 'No'! The one lane which was open, sported what appeared to be a novice associate who didn't seem to know his way around the register, and a customer with a cart-full of merchandise needing to be rung up. I've always loved this store and it has always been my go-to for semi-formal and business casual wear. This experience however, has certainly soured me on this store and I won't be back in a hurry. There are too many choices in retail to be this disinterested in customer satisfaction. Hope this feedback prompts your associates...

For prom/grad suit - given my last minute notice from my son - we discovered a decent selection for prom. From very traditional to updated/stylish. As expected, they were down to scraps like everyone else. Yet a stylish coat caught our eye. But did it fit?

Their selection of traditional suits was impressive. However, once the floor stylists helped us figure out his sizes - there wasn't much available for the tall & slim. 😕 I don't know if that's normal or just due to prom.

After sleeping on it,we returned the next night, was further assisted by another stylist, & were lucky enough that they had a coat just 1 size up (which looked good still & will probably be grown into).

We left the 2nd time satisfied & happy. Prices were mid-low range. We plan to return another time that's not driven by an event.

I wish I had visited K&G before running around store to store and finding nothing. Either the stores didn't have what I was looking for or it was out of my budget.

My brother told me to check out K&G on Butterfield Road. I'm so glad I went.

I bought two suits and two dress shirts at an amazing deal. I was greeted by Jerry and he helped me tremendously. Everything from finding the correct measurements to giving life advices, he appeared to be a man of wisdom.

I came back the next day to shop for my kids. Dennis was there. He came and offered freeze pops to my three little ones. He was very generous and polite. It made their day.

This store is different from others. Not only do they have great deals and great selection, but they treat you like family. Everyone from Jerry to Dennis to the cashier to the store manager, everyone was a delight to deal with.

I WILL be back again when I need to shop...
