Really wanted to like this place because of all the good reviews. The atmosphere is really nice and the menu all looks super good, this is the positive of this place.
The negative is that if you are used from places like Ittos, The sushi, Tsunami, etc. you will be really confused. The sushi looks yummy when it comes out but anything with tempura is like the crust of fried chicken. Really greasy and thick wall of fried crust. Even if you don’t get a fried roll but just a roll with tempura shrimp it will have a thick layer of fried breading. I love fried food but if I wanted that I’d go to Canes.
The service is iffy. I’m not sure about the rest of the serving staff but ours forgot that we ordered sushi and was asking if we were done and ready to go after the first course. She didn’t tell us beef was a 5 dollar up charge, we only found out when the check came.
Overall for the price being more expensive than the average sushi in the area and so greasy you are full halfway through a roll I cannot...
Read moreBrand new Japanese restaurant! I really like how many special and unique rolls they have. They were able to accommodate my "no rice" request on any of their rolls - which I greatly appreciate. Food and sushi quality was fantastic. I will say, the sauces they put on the sushi (I.e. garlic ponzu) was a bit too salty for me. However, eating it with the cucumber that comes with the rolls helped mellow it out. The beef in the lomo saltedo was cooked perfectly! The plantain apps were interesting. I am a sucker for sweet plantains so no complaints there, however the filling had a bit too much mayo but it wasn't horrible. The best part about our experience is how kind and sweet our server was. Her name started with a J. She's a sweetheart. We are thankful this place stays open so late! It was a good late night find. However, the location is quite tucked away deep into Draper. Clean restaurant and...
Read moreIt took over an hour for us to get our food. And it came out in stages so everyone got their food at random times and super spread out so we couldn’t eat together. By the time the last roll came out we had been waiting for an hour and 48 minutes.
It was good food, but just took way too long to get it.
We got the ramen, adventure roll, and a Philly roll. The Philly roll had a slight bitter taste to it. The adventure roll was very delicious. The ramen was good, the pork was not thin like other ramen pork we have had and you had to cut it with a knife.
There were only about 15 people in the whole restaurant. So not sure why the food took so long. The tables that ordered after us got their food before us.
We had to ask for wasabi and ginger.
The restaurant had a...
