Disappointed by the Imitation - Not Real Açaí
I was really excited to try Wildside Bowls because the concept is awesome fun branding, creative combinations, and a fresh take on açaí bowls. I absolutely love açaí bowls and have one almost every week, so I'm always on the lookout for new spots that serve them.
But unfortunately, this just isn't the real deal. What they're serving here might look like an açaí bowl on the surface, but the taste and texture are far from authentic. The base doesn't have that deep, rich berry flavor or creamy consistency that comes from real, properly blended açaí. It honestly felt more like a bland smoothie with loads of added sugar and with toppings than a true açaí bowl.
It's frustrating because I wanted to like this place. The vibe is great, and it clearly tries to appeal to the health-conscious crowd. But for someone who knows what an açaí bowl should taste like, it's disappointing to spend money on something that just doesn't measure up.
Adding to the service, when I was there is was fairly late afternoon with just me as the only customer. They had two employees working and it took about 20 minutes for them to make my bowl. Totally get that if it was one person and more busy but that just wasn't the case.
If you're new to açaí, you might enjoy it for the novelty. But if you're like me and have had the real thing often especially from places that make it authentically, you'll likely leave...
Read moreI wanted to try a new place for healthy food and I was going to be in the Draper area. After searching on google I decided to try Wildside Bowls. It had good reviews and looked yummy! Since it was my first time there it was a little hard to spot as it's part of a building but there was plenty of parking nearby.
The girls answered my questions, helping me decide what to order. I decided to get the Rubumba Pitaya smoothie bowl. It was so beautiful! Super colorful with plenty of fresh fruit on top. I loved the taste and textures from the added fruit and granola. I decided to order a large one because you get a lot more for only about $1 more. I felt like that made it a little harder to get to the smoothie part on the bottom and make sure there was still enough topping for it. I personally prefer bowls over cups but I can see why they use cups as it is easier to hold and to keep in your car on the go.
I can't wait to go back and try more flavors. The Everything Smoothie Bowl sounds...
Read moreI ordered a Moon Dust LARGE Bowl. Usually at any acai/bowl place, they pack the bowls down. Not here, I received a large bowl with bananas at the bottom and alot of air and space in the bowl. the base was not at the base lol. they used the cheapest ingredient (banana) to take up space and make the bowl seem full. I paid for a LARGE bowl FULL of the ingredients, not a bunch of air lolol. I will attatch a video of bowl. and then I packed the ingredients down to show you how the container was barely over half way full. the bowl was tasty but I don't appreciate that I paid for a bowl FULL and I got a bunch of air. Compare the pic and vid I attach with that of the online ad and another "regular" customer whose review I found. I should be redunded 😢 next time i will get the bowl without bananas so you dont cheat using them for space .... if i ever return 👌☮️😆. I should get what I pay for thats all I'm asking 💯 I paid almost 16 dollars (15.97...
