I don't know how this place has nearly 5 stars but i know I'm DEFINITELY NOT coming back.
I came on Saturday night to watch the Final Four. That was my first time coming to this location because i usually always go to the one that was in Brookhaven. That location and restaurant was AMAZING!!! Never had any issues there.
This one in Dunwoody was a whole nother story and it completely ruined my experience.
For starters, there is hardly any parking at this location. It took a minute to find any parking. This is a complete contrast to the other locations which had easily accessible parking.
Secondly, the atmosphere feels like a Buffalo Wild Wings location. Everything is wide open. The intimacy and quaint vibe of the other restaurants is completely gone. It feels like you're having dinner in a school lunchroom.
Lastly, The service was horrendous. The interesting thing about it is the lady that was our server used to be a waitress at the Brookhaven location. I never had any issues with her in that location. However, this evening she seemed as if she couldn't have a care in the world about providing service to me and my guest.
On one occasion we ask for extra napkins. This woman literally went back and brought us ONE single napkin. Who does that???? When has anyone ever needed just one single napkin??? I felt like that was intentionally disrespectful of her.
Additionally, my food came out very cold as if it had been sitting at room temperature for well over 30 minutes. I don't know if she just took a while to go and get the food while it was warm or if it came out of the kitchen like that. But the fact that she wasn't attentive to my table, I ended up having to track down another waiter to tell him the food was cold. Obviously my assigned waitress was not checking on my table and following up on her customers.
Additionally, during the entire time I was there, she never refilled my glass with more tea or checked to see if I wanted anymore. This complete lack of service was very off-putting, especially considering that she spent the majority of her time sitting down with other waiters and waitresses chatting at a table.
I do not have any animosity towards that waitress but I do believe the vibe and environment of that location influences the attitude and services that I was receiving.
I'm not sure if management changed from the other locations or what, but this place is NOTHING like the red pepper i know and love. That said, I definitely won't be coming back, at least not to sit and eat... which is unfortunate because this used to be my favorite...
Read moreMy friend and I live in the area and we enjoy coming to Red Pepper Taqueria for Taco Tuesday or just to grab a bite and a margarita on a random evening during the week/weekend. Our waitress tonight was Gigi (I hope I spelled her name correctly). :) She was by far the BEST server we ever had! Gigi is professional, sweet, patient, caring, and incredibly authentic! It didn't feel like she was forcing kindness to get a nice tip at the end of service. As we were seated, she promptly introduced herself. Gigi really took care of us and checked in just at the right intervals; she wasn't overbearing and we also did not feel rushed. Every time my friend and I visit the Dunwoody establishment, the tacos are ALWAYS consistent. Hats off to whomever is in the kitchen. My favorite tacos are the Baja fish, gringo, and birria tacos. The margaritas are always a must have for us. Order the Grande it will not disappoint. On at least three past separate occasions, the manager or owner would always stop by to check in and ask us how we were doing and and about the service. Red Pepper is a just a nice, chill, place for us to come, get some great food, chat about our day, and listen to good music in the background.
So, there is always room for improvement. My only recommendation is to please try to have your frozen drink machine working on a consistent basis :) We love the...
Read moreWe came in late last night. Took about 20 minutes before someone spoke to us as the workers were watching the UFC fight (it was a good fight). When we ordered the waiter forgot to bring our soup and our waters.
When the 4 tacos were ordered, we again asked about the soup and they said “it will be right out”. Ten minutes and three bad tacos later, the waitress came over and brought the bill, we advised them to please remove the soup since we didn’t get it.
To which she responded while looking around the room, “I have no idea why they didn’t bring it to you. That’s weird”.
Now the food, we ordered the pollo taco, birria taco, carne asada, and shrimp taco.
Shrimp- just don’t order them at all. Way too much sauce which I assume was a “Crema” and shrimp had no flavor or texture like crunch or crisp.
Carne asada- another don’t order. The meat was bland but cooked well. Under seasoned and covered with so much garnish that didn’t add anything to it. Just seasoned meat, fresh onions, cilantro and a couple salsas for us to choose would be fine
Birria- this was second best. Decent flavor needed more seasoning in the meat. Seemed a bit too much cinnamon and not enough heat to add depth to the meat or consommé. Consommé could have been reduced more to add more flavor
Chicken- this was the best by...
