I came here for lunch after shopping at perimeter mall. I walked in asked the lady at the hostess stand if it was ok to sit at the bar she said yes, I sat down at the bar, the bartender greeted me and sat a place mat in front of me as I was waiting on the bartender to come back with my water and to give my order another lady who I presume worked there informed me that they have a dress code and asked if I had another dress to put on because a guest had complained about my outfit. I informed her that I do not have another dress seeing as I just came from the mall and just was looking for a quick lunch, but I said I will just leave if I’m causing an issue. As I was sitting in my car something told me to look up the dress code, I couldn’t find one, I called into the restaurant that I had just walked out of and asked for their dress code the lady who answered the phone said there wasn’t one. So I walked back inside to speak to someone, a manager (a black lady *this is only important because I didn’t get to get her name so whomever the female black lady manager that was there 9/20/2024 at around 14:30-15:44 this part is about her) I’m assuming came up to the hostess stand and I immediately asked what is the dress code? She started with a lot of “ohs and uhms” and stated well nothing to revealing and you can’t have your butt cheeks showing. I then informed her that there is no dress code on the website and I called in and was told that there wasn’t a dress code, so what was the problem? I ran down the encounter at the bar and it was then that she revealed she was the one who made the call to remove me for my outfit, but most importantly she informed me that she saw me at the door initially. I immediately get upset because instead of speaking to me at the door, she waited until I was at the bar, sitting down with a place mat in front me getting ready to order to embarrass me. I informed her that the dress I was wearing was a skort dress and had shorts underneath it so maybe since I just got out the car and it was raised a little bit it could have been adjusted if I was informed it was an issue but I can assure you all who are reading this review my butt cheeks weren’t just hanging out I don’t even walk around like that. She then goes to ask well can the dress be adjusted I gladly turned around and showed her it could be but that I didn’t want to eat at her establishment because how she went about everything initially was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, but most importantly EMBARRASSING!!!!! Why would I want to go back and sit and SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY in an establishment that kicked me out by discriminating based off of what she looked and perceived but didn’t give me the option then to adjust it and waiting until I was already seated amongst the bar which I also may like to add if my butt cheeks were the problem by the time I sat down you wouldn’t be able to see them anyway. But why on earth would I want my bare cheeks to touch a public seat to begin with. She was beyond rude, never apologized but most importantly made sure to embarrass me rather than to give me decent respect. How do you kick someone out who was already seated yet you saw them at the door and didn’t say...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Seasons 52 for our wedding anniversary. We had a 6 pm reservation and arrived an hour early. I asked Renita, the hostess, if they do anything for anniversaries. She said yes and, with a bit of an attitude, told us that we should have said something about it when we made our reservation so they could plan for it. She picked up a sign and greeting card envelope and asked Carl if he was available. He said yes, and we were led to our table. We wondered what needed to be planned for when the anniversary gift is a free champagne toast.
It turns out that coming an hour early worked in our favor because the abundance of tables that were available at 5 pm were almost all filled at 6 pm. With the rise in diners came a rise in the noise level. We prefer quiet spaces.
We do not eat meat. We do eat seafood. Pork Chops was one of the specials; the smell of meat was high in the air. Our table was right by the open air kitchen. There is not much in the way of vegetarian selections. My husband would have gotten Shrimp and Grits, but it had chorizo and bacon in it.
The delivery and the presentation of our food was timely. Everything was hot and fresh. We had not eaten all day so it felt good to finally eat. I love a good crab cake. The lump crab cake had a perfect crunchy coating and was a nice size. It was low on flavor, the Dijon sauce brought flavor but was not that appealing to me, and the crab texture was thin. The BBQ Shrimp Flatbread was on the flatest Flatbread crust I've ever had. I liked the crust, but the toppings never came together in a savory way. Pineapple, BBQ sauce, shrimp, and feta - the potential was there for a great taste treat. It didn't happen for me. My husband enjoyed the flatbread.
The young person who brought our entrees had great energy. I did not catch his name and am acknowledging him for the lightness he brought to our experience.
We had the salmon and Chilean sea bass entrees. My husband found the salmon to be tasty, the green beans a little undercooked, and the potatoes portion small. The Chilean sea bass portion was big on size, light on flavor and texture. The Asian sauce had no umami. The mushrooms had a very earthy, hearty flavor, and the rice had great texture. This dish had the potential to be great, and it did not happen for me.
We got dessert. My husband had the carrot cake which he thought was tasty, but he expected a piece of cake, not an appetizer in a shot glass. I had the vegan oatmeal cookie sandwich. It was sweet plus had a flavor I can't put my finger on that was a little off-putting. Once was enough for me.
I do have to give kudos on the champagne. Even though neither of us really drink, we both found the champagne to be very good.
Before the world shut down, my husband and I came to Seasons 52 and enjoyed our experiences. While we truly enjoyed each other's company on this occasion of our anniversary, about Seasons 52, all we can say is we paid a lot of money for a dinner experience that gives us no reason to come back. At least we have great memories of our second date which happened here...
Read moreFor some reason my mother insisted we go to brunch this past Mothers Day at Seasons 52. The experience I had a year before was still fresh in my head and the return visit only confirmed that if I have any choice, I would never visit Seasons 52 again.
First, we had reservations at 1pm. Multiple tables open yet we sat for nearly 10 minutes before finally being brought to one of those empty tables which was right in the traffic flow of guests and servers. Chairs were not very comfortable, need to be reupholstered with new cushions.
A year before we had been seated (begrudgingly by the host) in a back room (the table we'd been seat at first suddenly was already reserved for someone else). The noise level in the main room on Mothers Day was brain-rattlingly loud. The fixtures, tables, chairs and partitions are dinged up and the silk plants are covered in dust.
After being seated 10 minutes late, the server (cannot remember her name but at least she was fun to talk to and got our orders correct, even if they were very behind) got our drink orders placed and appetizers to the table... roughly 10 minutes after we were seated. That makes 20 minutes of being in the restaurant without any food or drink when our reservation was at 1pm.
My drink was some sort of sour, strong, red drink that was listed as a strawberry and hibiscus margarita. Could taste none of the strawberry or hibiscus. It was just a red, sour drink that AT LEAST had enough alcohol for my empty stomach to notice. My dish was the "standing French toast." Not sure why it was called French Toast. It was more like a very dense slab of cake sitting in a puddle of ... some kind of dairy and blueberry compote/sauce. I am not the person who sends food back. I worked in food service for years, I know what is likely to happen when you send food back. The bacon that came on a separate plate was room temperature and only one bacon slice was partially crispy. The rest was rubbery and oddly bland for bacon.
I cannot speak for the stuffed mushroom appetizers as I do not eat mushrooms, my mother and family members did not seem to mind how they tasted. I'll take their word for it. The same for their fish dish and the scallops dish. However my mother did note that the asparagus was crunchy and the risotto (might have been rice) was "undercooked." Which lived up to the expectations set a year before with raw green beans and undercooked rice.
I did not order dessert and the desserts ordered seemed to be well enough that no one complained but for the portion size they too were extremely over-priced.
For my drink and dish it was nearly $40 before tip. A total rip off.
All in all, I will have to decline if I am invited to return.
From a year ago: Over $60 for a bowl of corn soup, some chicken, undercooked rice and raw green beans with 2 drinks. Way...
