DO NOT GO TO THE CAPITAL GRILLE Most Expensive $30 Chicken that wasn't even fully cooked properly. Terrible service, subpar food, and chicken that could give you salmonella.
My friend's were visiting from out of town, in order to celebrate one of their birthdays. We booked reservations at the restaurant because we wanted to go somewhere fancy and special. The restaurant was able to book our party of 7 (one of the only good things about this place). Many of us looked over the menu before going to the restaurant and saw the Lobster Mac and Cheese and wanted to try it. We didn't realize the Mac and Cheese was on the 'To Share' section of the menu but we were still interested in getting to eat it so we asked the waiter how big it was. The waiter was very rude and dismissive to our questions about the menu and he told us several times the Lobster Mac was very small and not big enough to eat and that we would not like how small it was, despite the fact that it was on the 'To Share' section. I decided to order the chicken instead because of how small the waiter said the Mac and Cheese was. One friend ordered it anyway. When he brought our food out it turned out that the Mac was not small at all but was actually sharable and I was very upset because I had really wanted to try it but only didn't order it based off of what he said, which was entirely untrue and I felt he only said that because he did not want us ordering only that item to eat (it was priced less). He also asked us several times if we were planning on ordering alcohol and when we said no each time he became more irritated but none of us drink alcohol so we weren't just going to order alcohol because he wanted to run up our tab for a larger tip. The waiter continued to have a snide attitude throughout the night and despite the fact several of us did not like any of the food that we ordered we tried to eat it anyway because the waiter had an attitude with us. I noticed that my chicken had a brownish red liquid coming from it and I wasn't sure if it was undercooked and bloody or if it was just the sauce because of how dark the entire restaurant was. I only ate a little bit of the chicken because I get full quickly (and quite frankly it was very bland, charred, and tasteless) and then I had to have the rest boxed up. I figured that I could at least eat the rest at home. However, that was not the case. ( I wasn't even going to write a review but then when I got home I really felt the need to say something after trying to eat my leftovers.) I took the chicken out of the fridge and bit into the leg only to discover that the chicken was undercooked and pink and red all throughout the center. I was right about the chicken being bloody at the restaurant and I instantly felt sick. I'm very upset because I paid good money to eat at The Capital Grille only to have terrible service, subpar food, and chicken that could give me salmonella and send me to the hospital. Very disappointed in the experience we had, especially because I wanted to show off how good Atlanta is at the food scene to all of my friends that...
Read moreWhere to start? It was absolutely amazing! If I could give 10 stars I would. Came in after 6pm and had a blast. It was calming. Even though the dress code is more business casual we were dressed a little more relaxed. Jeans and nice shirt. Heels. Didn’t feel out of place. Seems like a place where you can wear a ball gown or a nice blouse and relaxed bottoms. Everyone was kind and welcoming. Restroom was clean and neat. The person who took care of us was beyond amazing. Perry was phenomenal. He greeted us within a minute or two after we sat down. Very polite. Didn’t rush us or make us feel uncomfortable. Treated me and my husband with respect. Even made us laugh. His recommendations made our night even better. He suggested the lobster stuffed crab cake with lemon basil aioli. Perry also suggested the lobster bisque as an appetizer even though it’s not on the menu anymore. Which was great because that’s exactly what we wanted. Both were divine! I couldn’t choose from the wide range of options that were on the menu for dinner. Perry could tell and he asked if I liked scallops then recommended the scallops with lobster risotto with asparagus. I ordered a French 75 with gin & it was the best one I’ve ever had. My husband had the ribeye steak with lobster and it was phenomenal. We had mash potatoes as a side and they were the best mashed potatoes we’ve ever had. For the surprise dessert there was two gorgeous treats for us to share. One was a semi sweet chocolate mousse and the other was a cheesecake with berries on the side. The mousse was barely sweet enough to get you hooked but not too sweet to overwhelm your pallet. Rich enough to eat slowly and enjoy. Just like our experience here. The cheesecake was beyond amazing. Savory and just enough sweetness with a hint of acidity to balance out the sweetness. We enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese that we took to go. Everything we had was delicious. The lights were low. The ambiance was great. It was more than worth it to come here. We’ll be back for sure with more...
Read moreI was here over the weekend for my birthday(party of 2). About 5 to 10 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my birthday card with money on the table(we left at about 10pm which was closing). I called the restaurant and asked them to get if for me as I was on my way back there. The manager Danielle Crawley answered the phone and said she would go look. She came back a few minutes later and said nothing was there and that a message would be sent to the cleaning crew about it. I assured her it was left there and that I had just left the restaurant without it. I asked her for the name of my server to ensure she got the right table. Her tone became very aggressive and rude and she said she wouldn't know as I had not given her the name on my reservation. I then wondered where she looked the first time. After providing the name on the reservation, she said that was where she looked and it wasn't there. I told her that was impossible and asked her to pull the camera footage in the restaurant to which she said they didn't have any except at the exit. I said I would call the police and arrived at the restaurant at that time. She opened the door and we told her she was rude and either had a theft problem or it was unintentionally taken when the dishes were removed. She was at this time yelling loudly and one had to almost talk over her to get a word in. At which point she said my finger was in her face. I am soft spoken and calm and unless you were right there, you couldn't have heard me. I told her that was a lie as my finger was definitely not in her face and she was only looking to escalate the situation. She then said she would go get everyone to look for it. She came back in 5 minutes with my card and money. All she had to do was be nice and helpful. Without her trying to throw her weight around, this would have been resolved very easily and quickly. Danielle Crawley has a very bad attitude problem, is rude and should not be...
