Iâve been seeing this place for a while and and decided to give it a try for the first time.
ATMOSPHERE Right upon entering, we were greeted by the registrar who was very pleasant which compelled me to continue with my order. Unlike other Jamaican restaurants who had nasty attitudes upon which I turned and walked out. No need to go further. The music and ambiance was cool. The decor was simple and Straight. Nothing too fancy. Clear indication of down to earth folks!! đđž
PRICE The prices were very reasonable considering the portion size they give you is a fair price. Given the fact that they offer combo meals which is very good because a lot of places like this donât offer this. Explanation below. đđž
FOOD Ok now the important part. I ordered the curry chicken combo and BBQ jerk combo. The comboâs comes with a meat of your choice, two sides and an additional free side. A total of 3 sides for $13.50. You canât beat that.
FOOD RATING The curry chicken was delicious. Not too overpowering with curry. You can taste the authenticity in this dish.
CABBAGE This side was very good with a little kick of spice but nothing you canât handle if you don't like spicy food.
RICE AND PEAS This side was very plentiful and pretty good. The rice and the peas (kidney beans) were cooked to perfection and didnât have that starchy taste to it. But a little more of that thyme flavor wouldâve set it off.
MAC N CHEESE This side was very creamy and flavorful. The best part is that it stayed creamy the entire time and didnât coagulate like some Mac n cheese do đŁ. It had a slight Smokey taste to it which was awesome.
BBQ JERK CHICKEN This was by far very delicious. The presentation was BOMB!!! The bbq sauce was really good. I just wish it had that grill smoke flavor to it. That wouldâve been a top popper đ¤Ż. But hey. I understand some kitchens donât have that capability to grill. But Iâm guessing it was baked. You get three pieces with this choice. I wished I ordered dark meat, not a fan of white meat. But that was my fault, shouldâve asked.
PLANTAINS F**king delicious!! I can eat those things day and night.. OMG sweet and soft and pleasant to the palate. DAMN !!! Soooo good!!!
IS IT RECOMMENDED? Yes! it definitely is recommended. I will definitely go back. You can tell they take pride in their food with regards to presentation and quality. But more importantly,...

Read moreDiscovered this little location about 3 weeks ago. Great vibe, loved the music, had a bit of island coziness to it. Reminded me of Jamaica, a tat of the eastern Caribbean as well. Image of the great Bob Marley greets you when you enter (he is straight in-front of you a little to the right). Menu is clear to see and review. Co-Vid protocols are being observed. The beef patties were great. Good enough for us to decide we were not going to drive the 35 minutes to a location in Kennesaw for a good Jamaican patty.
Today around 4:30 pm. I ordered 3 beef patties. By the time I got to the car, hubby stated the bag was pretty greasy for patties. I wasn't bothered by this and decided to head home to enjoy my delicious patty. 12 minutes we were home and I went to devour my patty. Gag, spit, vomit!!! Horrible!! I don't know if this was a batch left over from 2 days ago and re-heated in the warmer or it was just a bad batch. I could taste the lard in the dough and it was greasyyyyyy beyond measure. Though hot on the outside, the filling was not pipping hot, it was just sitting in the flaky crust like dried slime on a wall or solid jello (no movement in this filling).
Pretty disappointed with this order and will go back to my other patty places. Not sure I want to try another oxtail or chicken dinner again. If they messing up the easy stuff. I don't want it. This patty was not worth my $2.75 x 3. I would have preferred if they told me they were out of beef patties and the next batch will be ready in 15-20 minutes. They would still have my business but after this I am out. My girlfriend who tried one of the patties was even more disappointed.
