I mean seriously do not waste your time here. We prefer the Top Korean Barbecue Hot pot near Costco or Homedepot its way better. We came here not expecting much coz what could go wrong in our wedding anniversary especially when trying out a new restaurant near by with all those reviews showing. It could be just a hit or miss not everything is consistent. Everything was bad from the moment we sat down. We came around 6:45pm on a Saturday a small family of 3 had a reservation under open table but seems like they could not locate my reservation but that’s okay the male manager did not let us wait and escorted on our table (A TABLE WHERE CHAIRS WAS NOT CLEANED OR WIPES because it was OILY. Had to wait a little bit when we were standing coz everyone was seems so busy when the restaurant was not even pack yet but looks like a few servers. Told the manager about it when he finally gaze on our way and he moved us to a different table. Okay I understand that it’s not a managers job to explain the menu but that’s it? you just put down the menu on the table without telling us anything? I would appreciate if you could atleast inform us that a server will be with us shortly. Waited for almost 10 minutes to the server only to mention that she will be back shortly. She came back and saw there was an ordered stopped by on our table where in we did not even order yet. She basically ignored us and called the attention of the other server only the other table asking did your table order this? And she just mentioned to my husband (“ Can you pass me that, well that was unprofessional no please no apologies at all but she did say thank you. But what’s next was both of her hands was on her waist, also both palms was on the table while explaining how everything goes. We are not in a BAR where you can casually talk closely to your customers we are family with a kid, we are not friends we are your customers. Her moves or gestures looks so awkward and very unprofessional. She was guessing the cost of the drinks on the menu which we can see that for ourselves. When we told her that we are ready to order she was like “I need to take your drinks order first”. Well we only wanted water so you basically can take our food orders you don’t have to come back and take our food order after bringing our water we already waited long enough. Food wise if your ordering plain meat don’t expect to have it season with salt you do it yourself as your cooking. For the meats that are marinated they are pretty good. Do not order the kimchi ramen coz it was tasteless my son was dissapointed with the first bite. Sushi was ok nothing special at all. And we don’t understand the part that you are serving sushi as an appetizer but we need to atleast wait and grab someone’s attention just to ask for wasabi and soya sauce for our table, can that be ready on the table, yes it’s Korean and not Japanese but it would seriously save so much of your time especially when you have less staffing and your server are more busy clearing and empty table than paying attention to a table we’re there’s already guest. It’s really annoying when it’s hard to catch the attention of your server. It’s not their fault too they have to be everywhere at...
Read moreWent to Stone Age for an afternoon birthday dinner (we're from out of town). We were sat just before 4PM so we were served under the dinner menu, which includes more meat options than the lunch menu. It was a Tuesday and there were hardly any other patrons, which made the dinner very chill.
You're given a menu that has all the hot food options (either cooked and sent via the top conveyor belt or brought to you for you to cook yourself) that you can put orders in with your server (we had Nick and he was great)! There's also a constantly rotating bottom conveyor belt that has various foods on it (various types of gimbabs, veggies, kimchis, and other cool side dishes) that you can grab at any given time.
Your meal is upto 2 hours and depending on what you choose to eat, you'll be cooking most of it. At our table in addition to silverware and napkins there was a caddy with various liquids (vinegar, mustard, gochujang and something else I feel I'm forgetting) and a container with 2 sets tongs and heavy duty meat cutting scissors. This was perfect as my husband and I could both order different things and cook to our liking, individually. Nick also brought out lower sodium soy sauce.
After just an hour we were STUFFED. We had LA galbi short ribs, New York strip steak, filet mignon, beef bulgogi, spicy pork belly, Cajun shrimp, fried dumplings, kimchi rice and then sides from the conveyor belt (items with the * were my favorites). Most of the proteins are seasoned, but I can definitely see someone wanting to bring their own from home too. Nick changed our grate out a couple times so we wouldn't be cooking on any burnt pieces left behind. Also a little hint, let the grate heat up before you put your protein down, that way whatever your cooking doesn't stick when you're ready to flip.
Our only negatives were that the radish kimchi and tteokbokki were sweet, something we weren't used to. But overall the food was fantastic and there's so many things to choose from!
We'll definitely be coming back whenever we're in the area and are recommending Stone Age Korean Steakhouse to all our friends and family! We...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at The Stone Age Korean Steakhouse! We came in with a party of 20, including 9 kids, and I have to say the staff handled everything beautifully.
When I was making the reservation, Alberto was such a great help in coordinating everything ahead of time, which set the tone for a smooth evening.
Our servers, Tracy and Anna, were incredibly attentive, patient, and friendly throughout the meal — even with all the chaos that comes with a large group and kids. They made sure everything was running smoothly and everyone had what they needed. The manager, Lee, also checked in several times, which made us feel so well taken care of. We were especially grateful that they gave us a section off to the side with three tables to comfortably fit our group, and that they could accommodate splitting checks for such a large party — both of which made the night so much easier for us.
On top of the fantastic service, the food was absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the lemon pepper chicken, soy and spicy pork bellies, and the short rib. The green onion salad was such a great addition, and we were thankful for the endless radish wraps. A friend of mine was glad to see that they offered cooked sushi rolls and eel nigiri (they don’t serve raw sushi), and the crab salad was also tasty. We didn’t try the crab legs add-on this time since they’re an additional cost, but we definitely plan to order them on another visit.
We can’t wait for them to get their alcohol license and to start serving hot pot in the winter months — we’ll definitely be coming back! And if you visit, we highly recommend requesting Anna or Tracy to assist your table — they were phenomenal!
If you’re looking for great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend The Stone Age...
