I had been craving a good Italian meal for a while, and finally decided it was time to make the trek to the Olive Garden. I was excited upon arriving to the restaurant, but that excitement would quickly turn to disappointment.
To begin, the restaurant seemed very disorganized. I was sat and had to wait a decent amount of time before our server came to the table. This was 100% not his fault though, the host stand decided to open and subsequently seat his section right after he arrived at work. Our server however was the highlight of this trip, and the sole reason for 2 stars instead of one.
Now, onto the food. We started the meal of with the mozzarella sticks. Half of them were just fried breading without cheese inside. All of them were soggy because of the generous amount of alfredo sauce covering them. Very disappointing start to the meal.
We then ordered our entrees, chicken parmesan for both myself and my fiance. This allowed us to indulge in the salad and breadsticks. The salad was fine. Nothing special. The breadsticks were not fresh though. They were brought out cold, and were definitely a bit stale. The breadsticks are one of my favorite parts, but yet again, disappointing.
When the entrees arrived to the table, the first thing I noticed was how small the portion size had become. The last time I came to the Olive Garden (maybe 5-6 months ago), my entree came with nice, large pieces of the chicken, with a generous portion of pasta and enough sauce to dip my breadsticks in. This time, the chicken was very small, dry, and there was a very small amount of pasta with barely enough sauce for the pasta.
The icing on top however was the price tag. At these prices, I fully expect to leave a restaurant full and satisfied. However after leaving the olive garden this time, I was only full of disappointment. I was very dissatisfied by my experience here, and it will likely be quite a while...
Read moreI went here on a Sunday evening. When I went into the bathroom, they had a sign with all capital letters urging everyone to DOUBLE wash their hands. Well come to find out, there was no soap in the bathroom, just hand sanitizer. I went to the host stand to ask for soap, and the hostess disappeared into the back to find some. Ten minutes later she comes out, and grabs a key and says she’ll be right back. Mind you, there is a huge line forming at the door meanwhile. I went up to the manager, a tall African American man, who dismissed me and behaved as if he couldn’t be bothered. Another 10-15 minutes pass by until the hostess finally comes back out again. And she proceeds to claim that there is soap already in the bathroom. I told her that was only hand sanitizer and that I wanted to DOUBLE WASH my hands like the sign says we should do before I order and eat my food. She told me that was all they had and kept trying to convince me that it was soap. Soap should lather and foam with bubbles, and it was clearly hand sanitizer. So come to find out, THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY SOAP. I told the manager again that there was no soap, and he made it very clear that he did not care. Nor did he care that there was a huge line forming at the front of the restaurant that no one had been helped. He pretended as if he was too busy to care what was happening, while he stood around a computer screen with three other staff members. The entire time this was happening he did nothing about the situation, while his hostess was running around for at least 20 min trying to track down some soap. So lesson learned, DO NOT EAT HERE. They do not have soap and they clearly MUST NOT WASH THEIR HANDS. Zoom in to see that the bottle says...
Read moreI used to love coming here, but not no more. The original waiter I had, I don’t know what was up with her, but her energy she was giving me wasn’t very upbeat. She didn’t introduce herself like every Olive Garden does, she simply just asked, “Anything to drink?” It was very off putting to begin with. I gave her my whole order, cause I knew what I wanted, and then she zipped off. When she came back with my water and salad, she had a whole attitude, and was rushing me off, as if I had done something to her, and after that, I just didn’t wanna deal with her negative energy. I told the hostess to get the manager, and now I’m being serviced by Andre. When he initially came over to my table, he didn’t even initiate talking to me about what happened with the waitress, I had to do that and I felt that, as a manager, that was your job to do. When I proceeded to talk to him, he was giving me this whole nonchalant attitude, and because I just wasn’t feeling heard to the fullest extent, I just stopped talking to him, I was disgusted, and was just honestly ready to leave at this point. Although he took over and kept checking on me constantly, the negative energy, and damage had already been done. All anybody should receive is positive energy, exceptional customer service, and someone being nice to them when us, as customers, spend our hard earned money to patronize them. And then, after asking for my take home pasta, I felt rushed by Andre to pay my bill by having the self pay machine shoved into my face. I just didn’t feel valued and respected as a customer as I usually do. I didn’t get the resolve I was looking for from the...
