This has always been my go-to place whenever I needed anything for cooking Indian cuisine at home. Unfortunately, my experience today was very disappointing.
I came today on a Saturday August 30th, around 4:30pm and it was not busy, nobody else but me. I understand that they may have been busy in stocking up at that time, but that should never mean ignoring the only customer in the shop. There were two men and one woman working, and I felt as though I had to interrupt them just to get assistance at the cashier. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to look around to find someone to help me.
What made the experience worse was the attitude I received. The woman who eventually assisted me made it very clear she wasn’t happy that I approached her. From banging the cutter on the cashier post to not saying a word until payment was done, the frustration showed—even through a mask. She didn’t greet me, didn’t say thank you, and her body language spoke louder than words.
I didn’t deserve to be treated that way for simply wanting to pay for my items. Customer service should never make a customer feel like an inconvenience. I’ve always supported this place for all my Indian cooking needs, but after today I honestly feel more comfortable going to Indian Bazar, where the staff is more welcoming and always there to assist.
