Drove an hour to try a new Chinese restaurant. This one had good reviews. I ordered Mongolian Beef with no veggies. I was planning to share with my 17mo old and I didn't think I could cut the zucchini or onions small enough for him. The waiter brought my plate and I was startled. There were small squares of dry meat laying in a single layer next to a heap of fried rice. No sauce whatsoever. I asked the waiter why no sauce and he legit smirked and said, "The moisture was on the vegetables." I just felt humiliated that he would be willing to present a plate like that. My 18 year old was embarrassed for me. Appetite gone, we left. Maybe they need to budget the ingredients. I don't know, but never again will I go there. I've never felt treated that way in a restaurant before. Hard to explain. Definitely wouldn't recommended but if you do, dear God, don't nix any veggies, apparently that's 95% of the meal! I did mention when leaving we'd Driven an hour after we had seen it had good ratings and that I was surprised he thought it was acceptable to present a plate like that. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "It's hard when you...
Read moreDespite there being many delicious restaurants down Main Ave, May's Palace is definitely one to try. I wasn't exactly in the mood for Asian cuisine at the time, but I went along with my family. I was incredibly surprised by the service; the woman who attended us was SO down to earth and helpful with the questions we had and attending to our general needs. The woman, I am sorry, I can't remember her name at the moment, made the experience all the more enjoyable. She spoke with us, even spoke a little Spanish (we told her we are Texans) and made us feel at home. The food was delicious, I didn't even need to add soy sauce or any other chile sauce to get flavor from it. My sister in law ordered the lemon chicken which was not only flavorful, but light and freshly made. All of our food was really delicious and filling. We also ordered Jack and Coke which was also yummy! Great place! Can't wait to go back and eat at May's when...
Read moreI ordered take out and had a fantastic experience. Friendly, funny staff before, during and after our order.
Food came with a generous handful of sauce packets on top of the container full of sauce the chicken already came with. Well-cooked tender meats that weren't mushy or sloppy but had an easy chew and good layer of breading. White rice was soft, stuck together nicely and easy to stir. Egg rolls had a crisp exterior, and a satisfying amount of filling. Not a single patch of soggy, over-greasy breading.
Chopsticks and plastic-ware to eat with. Very few napkins came with the food, but the food is not very messy. Atmosphere is nice. A fair-sized building with good booth seating. Very clean. Not overly decorated. Price was fair for great portions of food. Most items come in at around $6-$9.
If I find myself in Colorado again, I'd come straight back here for quality Chinese take out. It is the best I've had in...
